South China

Dinner was good. Service was a little slow we had no knife for our steak for 15 minutes, once we got them the steak was super good. Salad and rolls were yummy. Personally I hate individual wrapped butter but baked potato was good, the coleslaw was very good. Lobster needed about 5 more minutes to cook but it was fine.

We have only lived here for a few months and have ordered from here a few times. We ALWAYS order the same thing but this time we ordered one extra thing. It cost me almost $20 more and I got less food than usual. I only got 4 pieces of sweet and sour chicken, I usually get a few more. The rice is usually a nice, round mound but it was not this time! The chow mein is usually over full, nope! My husband ordered all sweet and sour chicken but they didn't give him his side of it, only the entree of it which was less than they usually give. He didn't get his salad either which we were charged extra for. So, prices went up, which I understand right now, but we get less food? Um.....shouldn't the portions be the same?? You don't charge more and give less!!

I was staying on town for work and just for the night. Went in to order takeout and the girl at the counter was super friendly and explained everything to me. She said it would probably be about a 20 minute wait to get my food it was out in around 10 with utensils to go and everything wrapped up really well. I've had bad experiences from to go containers leaking in my car, but they take extra precautions here and it helps keep your food warn until you ate back to where you can eat it. Food was good, reasonably priced and very friendly. I made sure to tip the girl that took my order because she was doing so much and was very polite and helpful to everyone.

The prices do not match the charges. The containers are smaller than advertised. $15.99 for the chicken in the photo, while the menu said $10.79. The Tsao's had no spice, while the Orange chicken barely had any flavor. Fried Rice and LoMein weren't too bad, but quite salty. Never plan on returning unless a lot improvements are made.

This place was like something out of Kitchen Nightmares. I was in Richfield for work and decided on South China Cafe because they boasted gluten free options and had fairly good reviews. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the waitress was incredibly knowledgeable on gluten free specific food. I went with the cashew chicken dish with white sauce. The chicken was very rubbery and chewy which proves it was frozen and re-heated. The other ingredients consisted of canned peas, canned carrots, canned cucumber, canned water chestnuts, bland white gooey sauce and old cashews. A traditional Chinese cashew dish will have a nice white garlic sauce with fresh chicken, broccoli, roasted cashews, ginger, green onions, honey and sesame oil (all of which is gluten free). Very disappointed with this place. Spent $12 on a dish that I could only take 2 bites of.

They was not busy, yet very slow service. Had a take out plus my five that dined in. Had to wait for the to go, and was shorted soup and the sides. As far as the five meals, which we all had different plates. Just was not impressed, egg drop soup just was not authentic. Our meals was just not very good, the sauces (sweet sour, orange sauce) just tasted generic. Sad because as a family we looked forward to there Chinese dinner. Just gonna have to skip from now on. Believe me we will miss them.
