If you are somebody who likes fried fosh and miss the Indian amritsari fish go for their masala fish option.. it is simply mouth-watering....

Have never had any issues with fish and chips here. Always a decent sized portion. The masala fish is highly recommended if you're looking for something different to the usual battered fish.

I don't mind admitting that I'm always very careful where I order takeaway food from, so not only do I read recent reviews before trying for myself, but I always place a small initial order, by way of trying them out, that way you can usually guage things like quality of food, taste, portion size, service etc.
I have to say that Mr Cod at Shinfield Road Reading gets my vote of confidence!
I have now ordered quite a few times from here and have been very happy each and every time.
My kids favourite thing is the chicken strips, really tasty and great value for money.
My wife is also very happy, because Mr Cod do a lovely vegetarian burger, and my wife is pretty fussy, so for her to give it a thumbs up is a winner!
We love the meal options, choose either a drink or a fruit pie, great idea, and the hot pies are lovely!
When we have ordered online or via an app, the order has always arrived in a reasonable time and arrives hot, so can't fault the service.
If popping in to the branch, the service has always been friendly and prompt.
This is a great option for your takeaway food, I am more than happy to recommend Mr Cod at Shinfield Road Reading.

Highly recommended, the customer service is always delivered in a friendly, yet professional manner. No complaints on the food, its always perfectly cooked and excess oil always removed. Probably is, by far, the best Mr Cod in Reading!

Entering the shop... I was greeted surprisingly well... being from london were want you want is a greeting this was a great change... the FOOD WAS GREAT well worth the 20 min diversion to get it. Freshly cooked ( not reheated ) chips and chicken that would literally melt in your mouth ..DEFINATLEY GOING BACK FOR MORE EVEN IF ITS A 45 MINS ROUND TRIP #WORTHIT
