Saffron

Before writing this review, I read the others. There's no consistency to them, so I'm going to be hyper critical to be as helpful as I can be. This is the review of our take-away curry on 18th Aug 20. Firstly, the benchmark curry houses for us are Darjeeling Heights in Rainham and the Sultan Restaurant in Chatham. They both serve very good food. By contrast, Raj Rani in Wigmore is disappointing. The curries we ordered from Saffron all delivered good heat whilst being flavoursome. The portion sizes were middle of the road and the meats were decent. The meat to sauce ratio was pretty standard for a take-away too. By memory, I think we had a Madras, Jalfrezi and a Dansak plus a couple of sides, rice and a Keema Naan. Nobody went hungry. Everybody enjoyed their curry and we all agreed that we will order again. If there was one thing to let it down, that would be the Keema Naan. It was quite small, the meat was scarce and the naan was both flat and somehow dry. I'm figuring that they are pre-prepared and microwaved before delivery. Sorry to be picky, but the naans do need some attention.

Been hard pushed to find a replacement after our favourite closed down. Family members recommended Saffron and haven’t disappointed. Had a couple of usual meals for comparison and were delicious. Been trying new dishes lately and thoroughly enjoyed. EDIT: Ordered again tonight (16th). Great as always

Been meaning to try Saffron since it first opened earlier this year... Have done the rounds so to speak when it comes to Indian takeaway in Medway and Saffron easily matches and surpasses most of my previous favourite restaurants!! Food arrived promptly and was piping hot which isn't always the case with Indian takeaway, getting half warm Indian food is one of my biggest takeaway turn-offs so was very happy in that department. Food was flavoursome and plentiful, enjoyed by the whole family and will be ordering again soon.... I would take the low scoring reviews with a huge pinch of salt, personally think certain people will try their luck with new restaurants as they think they'll get plenty of freebies!! Well done Saffron!!!

Been a big fan of Asham for sometime now but my last two takeaways weren’t up to their normal quality. Found out that the chief had move to Sapphire in Park Wood, so thought I’d give it a try. Wow wow wow, food was fantastic, staff on the phone friendly and delivery quick and as promised. I’ll be ordering from Sapphire moving on - well done all.
