Nacho's Restaurant

Nachos used to be an experience. It was the kind of place you'd save up for a special night out. Not sure what's changed since we moved back to Pueblo, but now it's just another decent Mexican restaurant downtown. The hour wait for our food wasn't too pleasing but the food was pretty good when we got it. Especially for the price. When I got the bill, I double checked to make sure we were charged for everything.

The food was great. But the Margaret's were the worst I have ever had. Zero alcohol. We bought 2 32 ounce Margaret's. Kept asking husband if he tasted alcohol? Nope. I don't drink much so I should have been plastered. Felt nothing. Asked for manager she was completely rude and said we could buy a shot to put in it. Hateful rude women. So I was like buy alcohol that should have already been in it ? Never again. Oh yeah you have to buy chips and salsa which everywhere else it's free

I hate to give 2 stars, but I have certain things that I expect from a Mexican restaurant. First, I expect mexican restaurants to provide chips and salsa. They make you pay $4 for it, and don't offer refills on chips or salsa! The salsa wasn't very good - very tomatoes and runny anyway, but they also served it in a Styrofoam bowl, which was strange. Second, I except everyone's drinks and food to come out at the same time. We only ordered water and 2 waters came out about 10 minutes before the others, and that's because we finally went to the bar to get the other 2. One person's food came out way before the others, which was about 30 minutes from when we sat down. We assumed it was going to sit and get cold, but once the other plates came out, their food was cooler than the plate that had come out before. Our burrito was so cold, we actually asked if they could warm it back up. We assume they took it back and put under warmers and brought back out, because it didn't help much. Based on the salsa and service, I wouldn't recommend Nachos.

3.5 stars. I will preface this by saying that I'm from southern California and have spent a better part of the last 2 years eating delicious Mexican food. These guys are open in this pandemic. Seating is spread out. They ask that you look at the menu online (website has been displayed or you can use the QR code the server gives you). The servers were very sweet and helpful. My friend and I got nachos with dip to share, I got the Favorite of the Day fried tacos and my friend got the enchiladas, both with chicken and chorizo. While I thought the dip may have been slightly burnt, my friend thought was the nachos. The salsa was delicious. Overall the plate was big and easily shared between us. My tacos were honestly more fried than I expected. I only managed to finish one taco and ended up taking the other home. The tacos came with salad, cheese, gaucomole and sour cream. I liked the chorizo more than the chicken. The additions were all nice. My friend liked her enchiladas and said the same thing - preferred the chorizo over the chicken. Her plate came with beans and rice which were good. Overall, it is a decent place. Didn't wow me in terms of flavor.

I would not recommend this place and I will not return. We waited over an hour for dinner at 530 on a friday night - place was not packed either. After an hour I asked the woman at the front who seemed in charge and she said "what some people don't realize is that we are also doing to-go orders so it takes longer". I guess she was saying that a 75 minute wait for dinner should be expected? I have never been to a place that tried to make that seem normal. We were hungry on arrival and had kids with us and it was just not a great situation. Food was just OK - refried beans seemed to be from a can, red chile was very thick and overcooked, most other dishes pretty meh. We sat at the bar while we waited upon arrival for a few minutes before our table was ready and the lone bartender lady did not serve or acknowledge us (we were the only ones at the bar) for a good 5 minutes. Unfortunate, I had heard good things.
