Excellent Italian cafe with pastries baked on-site. Great place to meet a friend and talk over a coffee or espresso and a croissant or Italian cookies. Off street parking.
This business is currently for sale. Hopefully they'll find a buyer who'll continue the same style business.

I came here with my mother and sisters. The cappuccinos were okay. The pastries were all stale, and the cafe was not out of anything at the end of the day. The cream puff's filling was sour. However, the decor is adorable. It's a very nice environment. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come here, but it may be worth a visit if you're interested in ambiance.

Absolutely the best bakery in the Hudson Valley. They did my wedding cake, loved it as well as all my guests. Best rum cake ever! My husband's family have gotten all there cakes there for many years. All occasions, awesome Bakery.

I always enjoy my visits to Cafe Aurora. I try to stop in every time I'm in Poughkeepsie. They are friendly and accommodating. Their black and whites are great and they make a great espresso to go with them. I stopped by in the summer they have very good Italian ice. Last time I was there I met the owner and he was a great guy.

I grew up going to this place with my father, especially on those hot summer days when a homemade Italian ice was a must! Living in Ohio now, I have missed going here greatly. I recently made a visit back to my hometown to share this experience with my partner and made sure to go here. Sadly, I learned that Caffe Aurora is for sale and will be closing regardless by the end of 2019. During my final visit, I got an Italian ice, which was a mix of pear and cantaloupe. It was amazing as always, and oh, I had to get a few homemade pastries to go too! I honestly can't believe I will never be able to enjoy Caffe Aurora again, but it will be remembered fondly for the rest of my life, notably for all those visits my father and I shared together week in and week out.

I had the Italian Rum Cake and I was disappointed. The rum was not evenly distributed throughout the cake. Some bites had rum while others did not. I was hoping the cake itself would have been more moist and fresher. The cream filling was tasty. The decoration on the cake was impressive.

Had our wedding cake made here and every baby shower and Baptism cake, that followed (2006- present). The cake decorator can copy almost any invitation design and font using only buttercream-amazing. They also make beautiful trays of pastries. The Italian pastries were so good, guests at our wedding were putting them in their purses to bring home--true story!
The store front is charming with a real ice cream counter and couple of tables outside. Sure, it is not the most modern place around, but it is family friendly and most importantly, delicious. Oh, great prices too.
