Cafe Rouge

We were here this afternoon for afternoon tea. From the moment we arrived the service was great. We were shown to our table we were told the choices. We were then given an approximate time of how long it would take and the food arrived within the time. The staff were very polite and cheerful. A very pleasant experience. We are not local, we chose this particular venue as the Cafe Rouges local to us had very poor reviews and I can honestly say I enjoyed my experience and I thanked my daughter for buying this gift for me.

Had travel zoo voucher so just had 2 course meal.First thing to mention it was a raw night but it was lovely and warm when we came in.Service was prompt and friendly. Some recent additions to the menu so tried them .Overall good experience and the place was fairly busy for this time of year. Good value for what we had

The food there is fantastic!! I don't usually enjoy chicken breasts, but the way in which the chef cooks it, leaves it soft, tender and melting on your tongue. I've eaten there on a couple of occasions now and the food has always been to a high standard. On top of this, the staff are extra friendly, welcoming and accommodating; there was one time especially they had a waitress, I didn't get her name but she wears glasses, whom was attentive and smiley - a rare trait in waitress today. All in all, it's a fantastic atmosphere and would highly recommend. My only complaint is no student discount - so I can't eat there as often as I would like to. I'm sure my waistline's happy to here that though!! Haha.

Visited here midweek around 6pm and it started off with great service then as the restaurant got busier, service descended rapidly. First two courses were served quickly, then the third took ages, as did paying the bill. Food was good, very tasty and generously portioned. Would probably visit here again, in spite of the poor service, hence the 4 stars.

I am always in here! Great for a quick bit to eat and a great place to catch up with friends. No steps to access the restaurant so ideal for anyone with Mobility issues and there is a disabled toilet. Friendly staff, quick service and reasonably priced. £25.00 for afternoon tea or £30.00 with prosecco (just incase you want to treat me!)
