Hickory Tavern

Haven't been here in a few years and it has improved. Stopped in on a Sunday after 11am. Got to a table fairly quick. It was clean and had plenty of room for the 4 of us. Staff was quick and had no issues. Food was great and didn't take a long time. Only complaint I had was the cocktail shrimp that was in shell. Didn't taste right and let the staff know. With no issues they took care of it. Quesadilla was great. The lobster roll sandwich was good but I think too much lettuce. I would come back again.

Most of my Fav Sandwich Shops "Closed Monday"! No Breafast, No Lunch was 3:30pm, I really needed a *Good Burger*! So I Googled Best *Hickory Tavern* recomended! *GPS Directed* South 15/501 from Pinehurst! But, Just a "Warning" GPS Directed "Turn Left" at "Comfort Inn Driveway"! Called *Hickory* Staff Very Helpful, "Direct to Driveway just North of Inn" said " It Happens"! But Once there, was Seated fast, Very Nice Server, I ordered my Burger with Bacon, Arugala & Toppings on the Side, Steak Fries Served Fast! One side was bit Peppery for me, but I Loved Flavor! I really Enjoyed my Burger $12.99, had Tonic & Lime! Forgot Photo of Great Menu, it has Shrimp & Grits, many of my Favs! Thanks Y'all at *Hickory Tavern*, "I'll be Back"!

Ordered ahead for carry out and had to wait about 15 minutes longer than expected. Staff was ok but not very friendly and apparently my food had been ready for awhile in the kitchen but nobody had bothered to bring it out front. Got the Pow Pow Shrimp and a Build Your Own Salad. The shrimp were a little greasy but the sauce was pretty good. The salad ingredients were fresh but a little overpriced for what I got.

Stopped in, watched a little of the LPGA U.S. Open at Pineneedles. I had the smothered chicken, with sautéed peppers and onions and yellow rice. It was super cheezy, and the vegetables were seasoned, however the chicken really didn't have a lot of flavor. The star of the show however was the side salad I ordered with my meal. Visited here twice as we were staying walking distance at the comfort inn right next door... Came for lunch first then didn't stay for dinner as they told us 45 minutes, restaurant wasn't a third full and we understand staff shortages but the issue and why we talked out and won't ever be back is we counted as we stood by ourselves in the lobby over 30 people walk out, then a couple of 2 walk in and get seated right away.... Horrible management and letting inexperienced young kids run the seating process to say the least... AIN'T SMART
