Whataburger

Had to pick up a doordash order here. The staff was nice enough. I wouldn't day they seemed very enthusiastic about their jobs or life on this day, but they weren't rude. I had to wait for the order and the staff seemed a bit unsure of how to do their job but overall it wasn't the worst experience ever.

It's been a few years since hubby, and I ate at a Whataburger. The last time was in Dallas, TX. We saw a couple of Whataburger businesses while on our recent trip to Phoenix and decided to eat at this one. The burgers were pretty satisfying. The fries were underwhelming. Call us burger snobs, but when your gold standard for fastfood burgers is In 'n Out, you consider the big picture --- taste, value, and service. In this case, the taste of the burgers passed, and our server was helpful, the price was reasonable. The fries, however, were a letdown. So, I would still rate Whataburger burgers below our California icon, In 'n Out. I did appreciate servers offering different sauce options table side.

The gentleman at the front counter was nice enough. The food tasted alright, but certainly not worth $12+ for a bacon cheeseburger, large fries and a large drink. These places are robbing us. For me, I'm out here from the East Coast vacationing so two days ago it was the In-N-Out, and I'll probably visit the Jack-in-the-Box before heading home. The In-N-Out beats this restaurant for value hands down.
