Best sushi in Phoenix. Best sushi chef, great sous chef, and the staff are all amazing The service is great. You won't find many authentic Japanese owned restaurants anymore as many are owned mostly by Chinese and Koreans. The sushi is fresh and locally sourced with the best quality in mind. The menu may seem simple but you are always welcome to ask for chef choice and Leo will come up with something amazing.

This is my wife's favorite sushi in AZ, we drive from Glendale to Chandler to eat here when we can! We happened to be in the area and had the pleasure of eating here yet again and of course Chef Leo does not disappoint. The fish was remarkably fresh and the mini omakase pairings were exquisite. My wife, toddler and I had the best experience as usual. We enjoyed the food so much that we ended up only capturing 1 dish on camera...now you know it's good when that happens! Thank you Chef Leo and your wonderful staff for an exceptional experience every single time! Already looking forward to our next visit!!!

The wife and I got to have a date night at this wonderful sushi place. We thought the fresh fish was seasoned excellent and was served in elegant presentation garnished with real wasabi ryzome. The dish below was are favorite of the night fried rice cake as the base and topped with fresh sashimi tuna, absolutely perfect!

If you want quick service, don’t come here. If you want the absolute best sushi, Sushi Nakano is IT! The owner, Leo Nakano, is known for his attention to detail and his insistence on quality and perfection. His superb crew lives up to those expectations, serving food that’s as flavorful as it is artful. My wife and I have eaten here several times now and we love it. Food is amazing and service is professional. The atmosphere at this sushi restaurant is vibrant and inviting. The bright colors of the interior and the sounds of the chefs preparing sushi add to the atmosphere. The chefs are friendly and welcoming as they explain the different dishes and the techniques they used to create them, which I find enjoyable as I love learning more about the food preparation. This has become our go to spot for sushi in Ahwatukee. The food and its preparation is simply AMAZING!!! If you’ve never tried sushi, you want your first experience to be a good one from which you can judge all others. This is the place. Sushi Nakano should be a must-eat restaurant on your “bucket-list.”

Haven't been for a while as they were closed for renovations and no longer open for lunch. I'd never had the chefs menu before, but it did not disappoint. Everything had the perfect amount of flavor, texture, and taste. No dunking in soy sauce required. Never had quail egg, but had two items with it, and both were so delicious. One with pickled seaweed and the other with eel (dragon egg). Another item he smoked with Applewood. The marinated tuna was also unique and delicious. It is a bit of investment, but if you want the most amazing sushi you've ever had, you should do it.

We’ve eaten here several times now and love it. Food is amazing and service is fast. Staff is always friendly and the sushi chefs are willing to talk about what they’re doing...which is great to me as I love learning more about how it’s all prep’d. This has become our go to spot for sushi in Ahwatukee. Just wanted to add some photos from dinner with my daughter tonight (8/3/19). The food again was AMAZING!!!

Tonight was our first experience at Nakano. This was some of the best sushi I have ever had! The flavors are creative and intriguing. The quality of the fish, especially the Toro and halibut, was exceptional! We were also pleasantly surprised with our bill... this quality of sushi at their price just cannot be beat!! We will be back!!
