The Bagel Man

Everything I ever wanted from a bagel shop. It can be hard to find quality, homemade food around here, and small independent businesses to support. Bagel Man checks all the boxes! And has that special east coast charm too. I had a toasted everything with lox (the works) - mmmmmmmm so good. Can’t wait to come back.

As a former New Yorker I can attest that these bagels are as good or better than any bagel in New York. Big, fresh and delicious! I live in Tucson and bring back a dozen every time I go to Phoenix. They freeze perfectly. Just slice them before you freeze them. Then defrost for 30 seconds and then toast.Fabulous!

Bagels are the best around. Solid 5 stars. Real East coast bagels. Huge bagels and a super generous portion of cream cheese, enough to scrape some off and put it on a 2nd bagel. Personally, I love the green olive and pimento. Have been going since they opened. Sad he did away with the kitchen which means no more of his bagel sandwiches, but the bagels themselves are still worth going for! Super solid place. And he gets a bad rap but he’s always been welcoming to me and my family and he’s doing something right for sure. You’ve gotta get there early, when he sells out, that’s it! And that’s usually earlier than later. Sometimes 9, 930am.

One of the last true Ahwatukee institutions you can count on, The Bagel Man is a business you should support if for no other reason than as a tribute to the American work ethic, but certainly for its excellent bagels and bagel sandwiches. I've tried the breakfast sandwiches from other bagel shops but none are as tasty or as quickly made as the ones from The Bagel Man. Get in there, grab some bagels, and leave a cash tip.
