Haven’t been since it was renovated with slightly different menu. Great service as when they forgot and gave us the wrong sides they didn’t charge for them. Would recommend.

We had the degustation for dinner at Post tonight. The service by our waiter Wen was simply amazing. Every bite of food from start to finish was delicious and we left feeling completely satisfied. The price was certainly more than worth it. The wine list was comprehensive. We will definitely be back.

My partner and I have been here a couple of times, and every dining experience was fantastic. Our most recent visit, we got their oysters, wild mushroom risotto, and barramundi. Each dish was delicious, the mushroom risotto had a rich and intense mushroom flavour, and was smooths and creamy. The barramundi was a more delicate and fresh dish, and each element really combined well, making each mouthful a delightful experience.

Oysters were fresh but small. However the dressing complimented well.

Service was excellent, and the waiter taking care of us was friendly.
Booked this place for lunch on the weekend. We were shown to our seats and menus explained. We opted for the a la carte menu. We ordered the Tagliatelle- Wagin duck and porcini ragu; Slow cooked lamb shoulder with pumpkin puree, kale, and pearl barley; Casarecce- tomato, chilli, guanciale and pecorino; Saffron&Telaggio arancini; and Charred Broccolini with preserved lemon, currants and almonds. Delicious lunch was had with outstanding service.

I cannot speak highly enough about the quality and freshness of food An absolutely wonderful breakfast each morning… The buttermilk pancakes are to die for! Loved the fresh juice, and also the seed toast with avocado and lime; taste sensation. An absolute must if you are in Perth. We could not fault anything.

Surpassingly busy for a Sunday night. Lovely atmosphere, dim without being so dark you can’t read the menu. Friendly, unpretentious service.
Ordered the pasta specials - great simple flavours and also the broccolinni which was to die for. So tasty!
The wine was also great. Had the red recommended by the waiter and it didn’t disappoint.

My partner treated me to dinner at this restaurant for my birthday over the weekend. We were seated promptly however we had to wait 10 minutes to be offered water and a menu to peruse, my partner and I were close to walking out. The service for the remainder of the evening was adequate apart from receiving two kingfish entrée instead of one, which was awful as I do not appreciate raw meat. My partner thoroughly enjoy his entrée though. He did not enjoy the lamb shoulder main as much as his entrée however I rather enjoyed the Pork Belly entrée which I had as my main meal. Overall everything balanced out, however the poor start to the evening put a damper on the experience.

We had breakfast at Post this morning. We had POST's version of Eggs Benedict, Lemon Pancake & Big Breakfast. Price were about the same as other breakfast places but the size of all dishes were quite small. Taste wise? Not much to rave about (standard). Big breakfast Scrambled Eggs was dry and not creamy as it should. Standard mushroom, sausage and bacon. Potato Rosti was nice & crispy though. Mocha coffee was alright, watery. Service was attentive but not too friendly. I'd rather go to Petition Kitchen next time as they have more interesting dishes on menu.

Had an enjoyable evening with two friends here. The complimentary bread to start is amazing, served warm with crispy edges. It was so good I ate it without the olive oil. My friends had the pork belly entree which they thoroughly enjoyed. I had the duck agnolotti which was also very tasty. For mains I had the steak which was a little undercooked (whilst I normally eat rare, I ordered medium as I am pregnant at the moment) it came medium rare and a little bloody. But it was very yummy nonetheless. The sides we ordered were the baby carrots and pumpkin. Both were faultless. In particular I really liked the mini pumpkins - just delicious with the yogurt. All three desserts we ordered look great and tasted great! Service was polite and attentive. Would eat here again. For 3 courses and a drink each it came to around $100pp which I considered fair given it's part of the Treasury Como.

Despite some of the misleading photos, this is basically Como hotel's generic breakfast restaurant.

Popped in for a quick breakfast meeting with a colleague and although it is "good" there wasn't anything to set this alight in my gastronomic memory. Which is a shame because although I do understand it is hard to make a statement for a breakfast service, there are plenty of other CBD locales nearby that are doing just that.

The menu is interesting, but again hotel management or the Chef seem to have hoped that by being "edgy" or "flancy" they will make a statement to diners. Instead, as customers, we found ourselves saying that although parts of dishes were looking good, it didn't really have what we wanted for a simple quick breakfast.

For any detractor reading this, yes, I am well aware that menus don't need to have "bacon and eggs" to attract an audience, but neither do you need to push the boat out too far with the "Zucchini roesti and salmon" when it is a blatant attempt to make eggs bene (or for purists, Eggs Royale or Eggs Atlantic) look modern. If you know customers want eggs benedict, why pretend to be doing something else?

The service wasn't great though, and that's why the score is lower. Hovering, not very well polished or presented, and not very active listeners. Customers want to feel attended to and valuable. We are not your mates, and we are not an inconvenience either.

Price wise, the dish as a whole was reasonable, and definitely cooked to perfection. So The Post clearly have a kitchen team out the back who know what they are doing, and that gives me confidence. But the fact you've charged me the extra $4 for ONE poached egg to complete the dish makes me feel like I stepped into a trap (making the dish only $22 and well worth it). $5.50 for tea but only $4 for a latte? - that makes no sense to me. And no, I don't care on the brand, I care that you added boiling water from a machine into a pot.

The barista in the foyer though, was making a roaring trade, and the tables in the foyer in general were looking very busy for meetings. We, however, were seated in the restaurant, almost completely by ourselves.

Overall then I would say this was a good experience, but not great, and I will keep visiting the independent breakfast venues around town rather than return.

Had dinner here with friends on a Saturday night and it was lovely. Good atmosphere that had a relaxed atmosphere with class. Lamb and chicken cooked to perfection, well presented and excellent service throughout the night. We tried 4 of the desserts and 3 were gorgeously presented and delicious, thought the jury is still out on the choc almond slice. The only thing that stopped me from giving it a higher score is that the food was good but not sure it was amazing enough to warrant the price tag.

Will be back as I think the place and team has great potential.

Working express lunch menu........

The quick, but not too low key, business lunch was the instigator of my visit (so no photos), and good it was too.

The service was immediately friendly and attentive (always a good start) and my coat was whisked away and hung up. Winner!

The choice of complementary sparkling or still was a nice touch and the menu, while not extensive, covered a variety of ingredients and felt comfortable for choice.

The smoked salmon with soba noodles was small but excellent and, despite its size, I felt comfortably full afterwards which was a pleasant surprise.

The burger looked the goods as well and received praise from my colleague.

The service is what made for me, and I would certainly return, probably take a client for dinner. And with Petition Wine Bar across the hall and Wildflower upstairs you can certainly make the night without extensive commuting.

Just make sure you can make the tab out to work........

Nestled in the State Buildings with strong company like Petition, Wildflower and Long Chim, Post is a modern Australian neo-bistro restaurant. Specialising in utilising local produce, they also work with COMO Shambhala to provide a healthy, light option focussed on health and wellness. The special Shambhala menu items at Post are just the thing to follow a yoga session and are dishes which seek to help boost concentration and energy, and balance blood sugar levels.

Went to Post for a Sunday morning breakfast. Booked and called the day before to confirm that the kitchen served breakfast at 10:30am, was told yes, the kitchen only stopped serving at 11am, and my booking came under breakfast, so I was good to go. Imagine my surprise when I turned up and got told the kitchen had stopping serving breakfast, one would wonder why I called at all, anyway after much discussion with the waitress they decided they would serve us breakfast after all, but we had to hurry. Anyway sat down ordered tea, which didn't come, waited for the food, which was a surprise as the dining room was empty and seemed to just be hotel guests largely eating from the buffet. The food came and it tasted pretty nice. I had the porridge and my sister had the french toast, and here is were it really soured. The french toast for $21 I kid you not....... is half a slice of bread with a couple of small slices of fruit, and i'm being generous with calling it half a slice of bread it was more like one third a slice of bread, sure it was nice, but as a MAIN breakfast meal, you have got to be kidding, it was a light snack at best- LIKE REALLY TINY!! I would have told the wait staff if a single person had bothered to ask how the food was, instead we got 'very politely' ignored to the end of the meal-were we took ourselves up to the till to pay. I normally don't leave reviews but this place as a breakfast option is TERRIBLE. As a side note my tea turned up very late (which they later took of the bill- which is okish). But seriously unless you have the appetite of a 1 year old eat breakfast somewhere else!

Service was wonderful in a modern stylish setting within this amazing restoration building.

We ate as a family of 4. The two mains (chicken and duck) that our teenagers had were fantastic.
My husband and I had the sirloin steak. Unfortunately a bit undercooked - I asked for rare and got blue, he asked for med/rare and got perfect rare! But the worst thing was it was tough!! I had a great big bit of gristle on mine which could easily have been trimmed off.
We did mention it and were asked if we'd like to get our meals changed, but really didn't want to wait anymore. However the parsnip purée under the steak was superb!!
Desserts were nice - not brilliant, and the coffee had a funny taste and was a bit grainy. My coffee mad daughter couldn't even finish hers!
As we were leaving the Manager apologised again for the steak (which we appreciated) and said they had changed suppliers recently to beef from NSW - but would probably change back to WA beef. I was actually gob-smacked they would import it!!

So all in all, just a little bit disappointing really. To be honest I was expecting more. Couldn't fault the service though - friendly (but not overly), efficient and discreet.

Popped into the Old Treasury hotel for desserts as I couldn't find anything appealing on the menu at the restaurant we had dinner at.
Our first stop was actually at Petition but due to my nut allergy, the kitchen couldn't guarantee their desserts would be nut free as they were made offsite. I appreciate their honesty as an allergic reaction is not very pleasant! So... the tally of restaurants inside the hotel that I've been turned away so far due to my allergies is two lol.
I really wanted dessert so next attempt was the Post. When I mentioned my nut allergy, the lovely waitress said their desserts can be made without nuts, yay!
As the main dining room was full, we sat in the cosy lounge area in front of the fire. My dessert was a modified version of the coconut sago passionfruit mousse and I was sad when the waiter mentioned that the meringue had been left out due to nut traces lol. I'm a huge sucker for sugary confections with meringue #1 closely followed by Turkish delight and fairy floss. G ordered the cheese platter.
Have to come back and have dinner as they have a lot of my favourite dishes on offer.
I love the drinks menu here as most of my favourite alcoholic beverages are available - Tattinger by the glass and Oban scotch. Hmmmm I hope they can make good Long Island iced teas. I couldn't go past my regular nightcap of a double neat Oban with a glass of iced water served alongside. Unfortunately a single neat was delivered. I'm not certain whether it was memory lapse as the waitress had to mentally take our order. This practice mildly annoys us as we would rather be served what we ordered than have to correct the mistake when it comes out. I could have kept quiet about the small error but I always have double measures or "more than a wee dram" as my nightcap lol. I reckon I was quite subtle in asking the waitress whether the glass was a single neat which she confirmed it was so I asked for another single. We were pleasantly surprised when the second glass was comped as an apology for getting the order mixed up.
The difference between a mediocre and excellent dining establishment is the level of effort dedicated to making the customer's dining experience memorable and pleasant. Post met our expectations and we will happily come back for a full dining experience soon.
Wanted to love Post and was really looking forward to checking out if the food would stack up to the understated decor of this new addition to the Perth dining scene. A few at the table ordered the steak dish which unfortunately was consistently overdone (medium rares were more medium well, mediums were borderline well done). On pointing this out to the restaurant manager and making clear that we were not after an exchange but rather so the chef would be made aware of this, I was a little thrown that the immediate response was a frown and a look of suspicion that we somehow were just making things up. It was also clear that the message was never passed on as she proceeded to just walk the floor (despite there only being 3 other tables in the restaurant). Flavors and cooking technique aside, the service in this case made us feel insignificant and ruined the tone for the evening. Come on Post - at $44 a steak, it better be darn near perfect and at the very least be accompanied with a side of respect and courtesy for the customer.

Love the decor and offering. Food is two extremes really good and really bland. The menu specials tend to have a lot more care and thought put into them than the standard menu items. Avoid the pork belly, order the scallops when they are a special. It is one of the most exquisite dishes I have eaten of late and think it should become a menu staple. The dishes are well thought out, the produce is fresh and respected, and I love the addition of the complimentary bread and soft churned butter.

Two friends and I arrived at Post at lunch time on Friday. We had booked a table for three but were shown to a table set for four in what seemed to be outside the main room. The waiter removed the extra table setting but I had to ask her to remove the extra chair so that I could sit across from both my friends. I would have felt more welcome if the the table had looked as though we were expected. When asked we chose sparkling water and the waiter returned with the water and the menus. She then disappeared and after 15 mins I went to find someone who could take an order for wine. The waiter returned, took an order for three glasses of sparkling wine and asked were we ready to order our food. Two glasses of sparkling wine were poured and emptied the bottle, both were flat. A new bottle was opened and a third glass was fine. It wasn't a great start.
We placed an order for food and our meals were delicious. They were well cooked, well presented and served in a timely manner. We each had a main course and dessert and shared a bottle of Howard Park wine. We finished with either a coffee or liqueur and the bill was just over $100 a head which we thought was reasonable. We didn't leave a tip because the service was way less that one would expect. Hospitality 101; make your guests welcome.

Alissa and I left Post very satisfied with our meals. The very much French bistro cooking was impeccable, with all 6 dishes executed with aplomb. We were particularly impressed by how faultless the seasoning was, and how the Lamb and the particularly difficult-to-cook Skirt Steak were served juicy and tender. Front of house did not let the kitchen down, and we were well taken care of. At $220 for the two of us (inclusive of three courses and a moderately priced bottle of wine), this was hardly a cheap meal, but we felt it was nevertheless reasonable for the quality of the food. While I do have a preference for highly modern food, I do enjoy more classical cooking when it is this well executed. Post have the goods - yet another excellent restaurant in my favourite dining precinct in Perth.

Another explorative excursion to the State Buildings for a late brekkie, this time to the Post. Upon entering this wonderful large space with a tree in the middle I was greeted by a friendly waitress who took me to the table, took my coffee order and closeted my coat. I pondered the menu and was surprised that so few tables were occupied; while not extensive it looked delicious. I decided to go with the hot-smoked ocean trout, zucchini brioche, fried egg and salmon roe, and because it was start of a new week, a Bloody Mary, at which my waitress looked at her watch, and I suddenly felt like a naughty school boy having asked a question I shouldn’t have asked. But after a moment of suspense, she said yes we can do a Bloody Mary for you; relief!

My coffee came out fairly soon, and it was presented in a nice porcelain cup. It was not as strong or hot as I would have liked, but in fairness, it was good, better than I have had in recent weeks at other places. A bit of a pause and then my Mary arrived blushing beautifully red. I have to say that I loved this was one of the best I have had as it had a very strong sweet tomato flavor and a nice kick of spice and vodka. My ocean trout took quite a bit of time, but I was in no hurry. When it arrived it was beautifully presented on simple but exquisite blue plate, and I the smell of dill and the smoked trout were so enticing. I hope the photo does it justice but it took my breath away. The trout was the true star of the dish along with the flavor bombs, the roe; a perfect match. There was also some onion to add sharpness and a nice herb cream cheese, which were not listed on the menu, but were excellent. The mini fried egg looked cute and was good perfectly. I wasn’t so sure about the zucchini brioche, I think it got lost in the strong flavours. Ah and I loved the crunch of the baby zucchini too, that was a nice touch. So all in all a wonderful dish.

I definitely will be back for lunch and dinner; some of the dessert photos look divine.

Came here for the express post lunch. We were seated at 12pm, paid and left happy and in food heaven status by 1pm. One seated, we were presented with basket of freshly prepared bread and butter. We both ordered the flank steak with a side of glazed carrots with barley and fries with aioli. The flank was cooked to perfection. Delicious melting in mouth and flavourful. What really made it stand out was the Paris style butter with fresh herbs which was nice. The fries are what they are and the carrots were cooked to tender and glazed in a sweet savoury sauce with barley. Will be back again soon to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommended!!

Great food and service. We came for breakfast and were greeted by a very friendly and professional waitress, who was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. My Daughter and I visited on saturday night and decided to share a curry. It was on the menu as a pumpkin and chick pea curry no mention of tomato. I must say I wasn't overly impressed after dining here. Yes, the service was great with the staff being very friendly, and the beef I had as a main was cooked just to my liking. However, for the price, a bit more sauce (not just buttery oil)/side/garnish would've went a long way as opposed to two tiny pieces of broccolini. Needless to say, presentation for the main was below mediocre for $44. I'm happy to pay expensive provided it is worth it, but that was not. As for the dessert, that was tasty. Overall, my meal alone came to $75 including a cocktail but excluding an entrée.

Underwhelming
As seasoned travelers and real foodies (that is believers in substance over style and a name) the menu choices on offer were nothing more than we prepare at home in our own kitchen. I expect to be wowed when dining at such places. We are always willing to pay for an amazing experience unfortunately this was not the case when dining at The Post.
The restaurant itself lacks intimacy although relatively quiet we were wedged between two large noisy groups there were multiple other tables for two we could have been placed at, and no the restaurant was not booked out, we had taken a latish booking.
With such a limited menu every dish should be outstanding and cooked to perfection, which it wasn't. For entree we selected the organic beef tartare and the pork belly. The pork belly was passable however the beef tartare was not tartare, the meat had obviously been left too long with the lemon seasoning changing what should be pink raw meat to a dull grey colour. It lacked flavour - if the intended purpose was for it to be served this way then the description should match that.
For the main course we opted for the Arkady lamb and Rangers Valley beef fillet incredibly underwhelming in taste, yes the meat was tender and so it should be for the prices being charged but that was it. If we hadn't have opted for these two dishes the only other choices would have been a vegetarian dish of zucchini blossom and goats curd or fish of the day being barramundi! For the sides we ordered fries..... These were so over cooked we had to use fingers to pick them up as the fork couldn't penetrate them and the chunks of iceberg lettuce with grated Parmesan, well I probably don't need to add any more detail! The waitress was pleasant enough but seemed disinterested and in a rush, certainly not genuine with her service. Needless to say we were in and out of there in just over an hour, no appropriate spacing between courses. To tell you the truth it felt as though we were attending a large wedding with a set menu, and if that had been the case we probably would have been satisfied. To finish off even the serving of the wine was unsatisfactory we ordered by the glass, the wines were poured haphazardly with no measurement guide to assist the waitress, the serving size was not a standard measure. Sorry to say even the complimentary bread and truffles were bland and very ordinary. At this stage we will not be returning unless of course we hear that things have changed dramatically as there are far better value for money dining experiences available in Perth.
It's so nice here in the morning! The windows on the ceiling brings so much natural light in. Came here for brekky and was kind of underwhelmed. While pretty looking, food is very expensive for what you get, and it is a very fancy place - exactly like a hotel cafe in fact. Maybe dinner is much better?

Would've been nice to get two poached eggs instead of one for breakfast, and bacon was really tough; if I'm paying $28 for breakfast with baked beans I really expected better. At the risk of being too critical, I don't think an establishment should get away with a substandard dish just because of its venue and the pricing it warrants. The food should taste as good as it looks!

With places like Petition in the vicinity, maybe Post should lift their game.

Delightful. Lunch with friends in the city over some lovely food. I ordered off the Como Shamhala Menu - organic Chicken with Beetroot and was blown away. Crispy skin wit soft flesh, fresh sides and paired well with a Napoleone Pear Cider.

Slightly on the expensive side, but justified by the surrounds and the food.

Last night I had a wonderful birthday celebration at the Post due to the excellent food and brilliant service. There were special extra touches like nibbles with our wine, gLuten free bread for my friend, caramel fudge with rosemary to finish and the best surprise a wonderful birthday dessert that was beautifully presented. Thanks again the four of us had a wonderful time and really appreciated the high level of service.

This is a classy restaurant with exquisite food. I ordered off the Shambala menu which is really clean, fresh, Paleo style food. My salmon salad was divine and the pumpkin cake dessert a sweet, but not too sickly finish to lunch. My husband and parents who I dined with ordered off the regular menu and raved about the food. My guilty pleasure was to have a few of the hand cut chips. They were sensational. The Post is quiet enough to have a conversation without having to shout, but vibrant enough to know you're in the heart of the city. Go there just to look at the amazing architecture of The Treasury hotel but The Post will not disappoint if you choose to stay for lunch. I'll be back.

Food was beautiful, interesting presentation and great flavours my only complaint for the price of the duck one extra piece would have been nice I think as a main it was too small. However it tasted divine. Definitely need to go ba k and try more dishes. Service was fairly good too considering they have only been open a week when I went. It was lunch though.

Wonderful afternoon tea. Best I have had in Perth. Hotel is beautifully created, wonderful old building, minimalist interiors. Could use cushions on seats in public areas - seat beds on most chairs are too deep. Staff keen to impress. One wonderful touch - white 100% linen napkins, Italian. How beautiful and unusual is that? Hotel will be great for lawyers and barristers when on breaks from court. Views from rooms on St George's Tce might be wonderful.

The new space Post is housed in is impressive. The developers have done a good job with the Treasury building.

The atmosphere was a bit stiff and quiet, but understandable considering it was a Wednesday night.

Waitstaff have been well drilled on service. Too much for my liking. Helicopter service. Pleasant, but overbearing. A number of conversations interrupted with "how is everything?" or displaying the wine we ordered. It's a bit too formal.

This is easily overlooked given the quality of the food. Every dish was brilliant. There's nothing particularly adventurous or groundbreaking but it was all delicious. Even the bread to start was fantastic.

An expensive restaurant, but an excellent new 'special occasion' option.

2 of us went for mid week lunch. $120 for 1 spuntini (snack), 2 pasta and 2 glasses wine, pretty expensive. Ricotta gnocchi very good, pillowy gnocchi with velvety mushroom sauce, wish it was a bit bigger for the price. Prawn risotto very average, should be called al dente rice. I know it’s a restaurant and that they do it in big portions when cooking but this hadn’t been stirred at all, ie not creamy as a risotto should be. Mains took about 45 mins as well. And our entree plates were only cleared when the mains came out. Pretty disappointed with everything really. Maybe my expectations were too high. Won’t be going again.
