China Express is a great spot for tasty and inexpensive American style Chinese Food. The menu is big and the amount of dine in seating is small. This takeout focused little place has been serving up generous portions here in Pasadena for over thirty years.
My wife recently tried the Hot Szechwan Shrimp and really enjoyed it. They serve it with the chili oil on the side so you control your own spice level. We are looking forward to trying more of the menu when the next craving arises.
If you happen to be craving American style Chinese food then I recommend you give this good old place a try soon.

The food wasn't that great, I couldn't really finish it. The thai teat doesn't taste like thai tea, they have their own recipe. There was no customer service. We got two lunch special and two thai teas for $20. Personally, i will not be returning to this place.

The location is a bit small, but the food is cooked in front of you. The food is decent, the chicken tastes a bit dry, I ordered a Teriyaki and Chicken Choimen Chow Mein plate.

I had a Chinese food craving so figured I'd head to this place to try their food. I ordered the Orange Chicken lunch plate, the portion was a good size. However, I'm not sure if they gave me the wrong order or if I did actually receive Orange Chicken, but it didn't really taste like Orange Chicken. Granted, there were a pair of orange peels mixed in with the onions, but the overall sauce didn't have the typical orange flavor at all. Also, the rice tasted a little smokey & burnt.

Delicious tasty food prepared individually to order. And watching the preparation is awesome. My favorite is House Special Chow Mein. It's fresh & the portions are large. Good prices too! I'm so glad they have re-opened.
