Got the matsu set ($90+ per) and pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Very fresh, skin was crisp, and chawanmushi (egg custard) was generous with mushrooms, ginkgo, and other fillings. Worth the splurge for special occasions for the sushi aficionado.

The most traditional sushi bar in Pasadena. Ike San and his staff offer a high end (yet moderately priced) choice of omakase courses at the bar.
The grilled octopus is a must, as well as their chawanmushi (Japanese egg custard).

Love everything here. It's so fresh and the omakase is a surprise every time. You never know what you will get, but one thing I know for sure is everything is very fresh and it is good. I can eat this every day. Can't wait to go back.

Truly incredible. I have eaten authentic Japanese sushi in Japan. This is the closest I have every come to having a similar experience in the US. Make sure to call for reservations both for lunch and dinner. It is nearly impossible to get seats just walking in.

Fantastic sushi here. We love coming here and ordering the omakase dinner to expand our palettes. The sushi chef's are friendly and chatty, and the clientele is made up of a lot of regulars which gives it an inviting feel. Since it's right next to the station we usually take the metro so we can drink and have a good time without worrying about a drive.
We moved back from Japan a few years ago, and we discovered that most sushi in LA is drenched in sauces, hiding the true flavor of the fish. They would never do that here.

Lovely place for a meal. if you get a chance book a spot at the counter and have a chat to the owner EK. Great sense of humour, chefs know how to serve food.

Really recommended sushi restaurant. Incredibly tasty, quality fresh fish prepared in front of you (definitely recommend sitting at the bar for the full experience watching the chefs at work).
Slightly pricey with just set menus on offer but definitely worthwhile. Very good, polite and unassuming service. Fun Japanese chefs.
The minimal almost bare decor doesn't reflect the quality of the food.
