Waffle House

Food was tasty, but the service was horrible and it was filthy. There was two female employees and one male employee working on 2/6/21 at 7pm. Our server did not have a name tag but was not very friendly. She then proceeded to ask if I wanted another cup of coffee if so then to let her know cause she needs to make another pot. This is not something that should be asked, you should always have coffee made for the customers. Another server named Kylie was eating bacon and vaping behind the counter near the grill, had her mask half off her face the entire time we were there. The cook did a great job preparing the food. The cleanliness of the restaurant was disgusting, especially behind the counter. Don’t post a sign saying you are hiring for friendly folks if the current employees you have are not friendly and did not care about the customers and their job.

Normally we have great experience. But this am it was something else. Older lady was our waitress. She rushed us as soon as we walked in the door. Then when she brought us our ticket i noticed we were being over charged when i questioned her about it she snatched ticket from my hands and then argued with me. Once she realized i was correct she then continued to get an attitude. She kept huffing and being rude. Smh. Where has the customer service gone?

Well, the food is just fine, and for a fair price as well. But by far my favorite aspect of this restaurant is its apparent role as a daytime version of a small neighborhood bar. By that, I mean that while eating/working on my laptop there for more than 3 hours, I realized that probably 3/4 of the customers are valued and well-treated regulars. Kind of like the old show Cheers, only more daytime than nighttime, and waffles instead of beer. I could not have felt more at home 😊

While we were at waffle house it was PACKED but Darrell, who appears to be the manager, was directing and helping his staff catch up. The entire 30 mins we spent in the restaurant l I have seen him wiping everything down, refilling drinks for customers and sweeping under tables. This is something I NEVER see management do. Kennedy was our waitress and was very attentive making sure our drinks were always filled and making sure everything was ok. I do not very often give out 5 star reviews but I’m impressed!!!
