This is your typical greasy spoon. The food is good. The service is friendly and quick. The atmosphere is about what you would expect - significantly worn seating and upholstery, needs painting etc. By the way, they don't accept credit cards just cash or check. (How do they stay afloat in the 21st century? ) Still, not a bad place for a home cooked breakfast.

I used to come here to eat with my mother and aunt and deeply enjoyed the breakfast and the lunch menus. Their take on down home hearty foods is incredible and everything is piping hot and fresh. Absolutely delicious and a nostalgic experience for me.

***cash only**** Very popular mom and pop restaurant. It can get very busy and very crowded. A lot of regulars come here daily. There is a big table at the end where complete strangers gather and just strike up conversations with each other. It's very casual and can seem a little well worn. But that's what adds the flavor and charm to this place.

Quaint little diner with the best old fashioned roast beef you can find. Often times around lunch its standing room only which tells you something about the quality of the food. One of my favorite places to eat in Owensboro. Full platter meal will only run around 6 bucks. I challenge you to find better food for the price.

Your basic meat and three type of joint. Friendly staff. The best omlette in town. And one of the few places you can still get real country ham. Most importantly, the grits are never lumpy.

Always a great experience when dining at JDs! It has a small town diner atmosphere. The waitresses are great and provide terrific service! The food is always exactly what I ordered and delicious!
