Sushi Ya

I actually like this place I think the sushi is pretty tasty. It is a little overpriced, but hey, who isn’t nowadays? My favorite role is the hurricane I usually order two of those. I also love the Jason! The downside is this place is a dive. They have been off for the whole month of November. I really think they should’ve had this place remodeled and cleaned up a bit while they were out! I actually like the employees they’re very good to me and my family.

I love Sushi Ya! My boyfriend and I come here all the time! Sushi here is some of the best you can find in Utah for the price. It’s NOT overpacked with rice. I don’t know what some of the other reviews are talking about. Obviously they haven’t been to other sushi places in Utah. The fish is not fishy! It doesn’t taste old! And that’s saying something for Utah seafood. The tempura style roles are not overly breaded. And you can get your moneys worth after like 3 roles. It’s so awesome! The staff is actually so nice. Some other reviews complain that they are rude, but really they aren’t. A lot of Americans just don’t understand Asian culture. They are more blunt and they will make sure to check on you to see if you’ll finish your food, but this is not at all meant to be rude. Actually it’s the opposite. Seriously couldn’t recommend this place enough! It’s my go to place when I want to eat out.

Pretty good sushi. Our faves are ck special, sushi ya special, summer, volcano & Rocky mountain. I'd give them 5 stars if they put a little less rice on their rolls and if it was a little cleaner. Their bathrooms are a little scary. See if you can find the snowman hanging on the wall (he's there year round).

My hubby really enjoy their sushi, but the restaurant needs some serious updating. The booth tables wobble, the booth seats are horrible. It's dark and dingy looking inside. The restrooms look awful. The service is okay. Their is one young brown/blond haired waitress that is very nice and helpful but that's about it. The building needs some serious remodeling and cleaning. The atmosphere is really lacking.

Came for a work anniversary. Place was a bit dark. Friendly workers. A bit hard to understand but not so much we couldn't get what we wanted. The bathroom doors look like they haven't been cleaned in a while but the rooms themselves were kept nice. Depends on what time you are there as to what you can order. Two different sizes of rolls too. I got the New Yorker, Playboy, and one other. They were rather good but no real punch of flavor or spiciness. I left plenty full. They were a good ratio of rice to other fillings. I would recommend if you want all you can eat sushi.

📅 Date of Visit: 11/14/2020 💬 OVERVIEW - 4.5 I have visited this Sushi Ya multiple times from going on dates with my wife to work lunches. One thing worth mentioning from my original review was the it was around Christmas 🎄 time and the restroom 🚻 was extremely cold ❄️ as well as the fishes 🐟 and turtles 🐢 in the front entrance are pretty awesome and mesmerizing. 🗺️ LOCATION - 5 Sushi Ya is located along the ever busy State Street in Orem which is rather easy to identify right next to the Nickel Arcade. 💲 PRICE - 5 All-in-all the price of sushi 🍣 was rather reasonable for all-you-can eat. This last time with my wife and myself, it was about $22 per person which is about the same we'd end up paying if we ordered individual sushi rolls. 🍣 PRODUCT/SERVICE - 5 The sushi is amazingly delicious, I don't think there was any sushi I didn't like! My wife and myself had the Upside Down Shrimp, Caterpillar, Futomaki, Las Vegas, CK Special, and Volcano. I would highly recommend both the CK Special and the Futomaki. 📢 POINTERS/PERKS - N/A Currently, with the whole Covid Pandemic 😷, they offer a 15% discount for carryout. Also it is advised, if you are planning on going crazy on sushi, consider doing the all-you-can eat option, because in the long end it'd be cheaper than paying for individual rolls. 🧑 EMPLOYEES - 3 Employees are friendly enough, but were hardly seen and never came to our table to check on us, just dropped off the food and left. If we needed anything, we had to flag down a waiter or waitress going to drop off the food at another table.

This place is a dive but the sushi is great. I know it might feel a little suspect ordering raw fish from a restaurant that looks so run-down but they do know how to make some great sushi. My favorite roll is the Godzilla. If you do all-you-can-eat you’ll need to have a decent sized group of at least 4 people. It’s also a good idea to bring along that one friend who seems to be able to keep eating no matter how full they get, just in case.
