El Paisa

Great food and overall great restaurant. However, I found it dishonest that they charged me over $20 for the $15.99 taco bar. They did not provide an itemized receipt, but it appears they charged taxes and tip and then asked for gratuity on top of it. I only realized this after and called to confirm the price. They apparently gave themselves a generous tip (even though they didn’t take my order at my table—it’s a taco bar) and then still asked for a tip as if they didn’t already take a bunch for doing very little. The food was good, but I despise shady business practices.

I really like the atmosphere. I want to bring my mom here. I think she'd really like the authentic atmosphere. The one thing I ordered while I was here though, was ceviche. All I could taste was lime. Like if the whole thing was just doused in lime juice. I could hardly taste anything else. I couldn't even tell if there was any seasonings in it. I couldn't taste tomatoes or the fish. And yes, I know that there needs to be a certain amount of acid to cure the fish, but this was way too much. Don't order the ceviche.

I came here for a work function specifically to eat at the Taco Bar. It’s a great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, but of course, the best part is the unlimited tacos. They had several kinds of meats to choose from as well as a stand with many different ingredients that you can add to your tacos yourself. You need to eat a decent amount of tacos to make it worth it, but they’re so delicious that it pretty much takes care of itself!

The Molcajete Supreme is my all time fave dish there! We love their ceviche de mango too! I tried their new specialty drinks Guayacal which is a guava cocktail, the Smoky Mezcal which is a tamarind mezcal and I am not sure of the name of this one but it was a passion fruit one and my oh my! They were amazing! The passion fruit one was our fave! Would definitely come again. Servers were friendly. Managers were courteous and always asking if everyone and everything was okay! 10/10 recommend!

Decent Mexican food in the Ogden area. The queso and salsa were delicious, the Chile verde was good, and the enchiladas were decent. Great place for families, and they celebrate birthdays in a really fun way. The waiter was friendly enough and chatted with us. We also ordered margaritas. They did taste good but were much too sweet for me. I was pleasantly surprised with the tortillas as well, they tasted very fresh. Prices were a bit steep as well, but they did have cheaper items on the menu if you're on a budget.
