Amazing. After 8 years of working in Oak Ridge I finally decided to try The Soup Kitchen and all I can say is wow. I got in just before the lunch rush and got the tomato soup and 3 cheese grilled sandwich. Firstly, that tomato soup is more of a stew it is so thick and simply amazing but that grilled cheese was next level, even plain. I will certainly not wait 8 years to return.

For it to be called a soup kitchen. I ended up not getting the soup because it was hot that day but I got a sandwich and I must say it tasted great. The place was like a mom and pop style restaurant. The people there were really friendly and the prices were very reasonable. I will have to come back and try the soup one day!

Faster than fast food, and better. Very cozy atmosphere inside, tons of OR and Manhattan Project memorabilia on the walls. Hadn't been to a Soup Kitchen since there was one in downtown Knoxville and was pleased to see that things hadn't changed at all.

I've been going to this restaurant since high school. All of their soups are great I generally get the chili. Love the bread too.

Our visit to the Soup Kitchen was the first time in years. We made the deliberate side trip visit as a remembrance of the time we lived in Oak Ridge about 25 years ago. The place was just as quaint as always and the food is still the best soup and sides around. The variety of soups and bread can’t be matched. Generous portions are the mainstay with delicious choices. If you are in the area make the trip to the Soup Kitchen.

Soup was running and the sandwich bread was not good cheese bread, broccoli cheddar. Price to high. Interesting place. Want go back needs improvement.

The Soup Kitchen has a fantastic Ruben sandwich, as well as, tuna salad sandwich. The chili was good if you prefer a mild chili. The staff were all friendly, and with just a look the manager kept them on their toes delivering what you needed. Walking in I never expected such a fabulous lunch, and should I find myself in Oak Ridge again, I will stop in again.
