Wired Cafe Bar

I'm going to give 4 stars and give Wired the benefit of the doubt. Visited Wired on Monday afternoon, there was a nice ambience to the cafe and the colours stand out especially. There's definitely a 'hipster' vibe that is suitable for the Hockley area. The Coffee (Rwanda) is a big positive. Very rich and hits the spot. It was unfortunate that the waiter brought over all three drinks with spatters of blood over the saucers, in which he was very apologetic and replaced the coffee. The menu itself is pleasing. The waiter however, informed me that swaps of items items in sandwiches are not possible as they are prepared beforehand, which is why I question how long it took for the food to arrive (25 minutes). My two friends had the Veggie Sourdough sandwich (£6.15) and appeared reasonably sized. On the other and despite how tasty the Roast Chicken and Pesto Focaccia was, I was disappointed by the size for the same price. It was also priced at £6.15 but it was half the size of the other sandwiches. Although I recommend the quality of the food and drinks and the overall atmosphere in the cafe, I would hope that if I return, more awareness and evaluation over price for meal size will improve, as it has potential to challenge local competition in being a top rate cafe. Perhaps Wired are still finding their feet. All in all, pretty satisfactory.

Excellent choice of quality food and coffees teas throughout the day, if you have a sweet tooth then this place has some different things to try. Certainly not the type of coffee shop to buy in the usual factory produced cakes which are depressingly similar. If you are after comfortable sofas and soft lighting, they won't be here either, it's all about the quality of the product: if you like that honesty, visit.

Wired is just another of the great independent coffee shops in Nottingham. Beautiful coffee made with care, served in a lovey cosy little café. Well priced for the quality too. Plenty of food and sweet treats on offer. The bench in front of the shop window makes it an ideal place to watch he works go by while enjoying a cappuccino.

I am new to coffee drinking and have been asking for recommendations of places to try coffee in Nottingham, Wired kept coming up. Having tried a couple of the usual chains and a few independent places I have to say that this is one of the best Espresso's I have tried. The food is also delicious, the New Yorker sandwich was packed full of Pastrami and its a nice atmosphere, modern interior, always busy and easy to see why. Due to the popularity I suspect they will be opening more branches soon but I hope they manage to replicate what they have done here without selling their soul! I like this place a lot and highly recommend it.

Is this the best coffee in Nottingham? Yes. But I going one further and saying this is best coffee I have had in the UK. Smooth flavour, the right temperature ( they don't boil the milk). Breakfast options are hearty and offer a good range. I went with the porridge and summer berries. Yum. A good range of slices and cakes. Not the usual fare I am happy to report. This is my "local" whilst I am here. Service friendly and professional.
