This is one of the best restaurants in NOLA hands down. Its creative, delicious, inventive and they are not afraid to be themselves. I dined here with my family a couple months back and I'm going back next week! I cannot wait! Literally everything on the menu is outstanding.

Sac-a-Lait is an interesting place. It primarily serves small plates of very unique dishes -- grits with duck hearts, braised rabbit, octopus poboys, and so on.
The food was really good. The service was great. For the group I was a part of, the small plates were a bit on the pricey side, but met our needs for the time.
I recommend visiting and trying out a few of the dishes.

Food is great, drinks are great. Selection on both a bit limited but solid. It's never packed and super convenient (if you live in the cotton mill). It would be my weekday go to, if I lived in that building.

This place is amazing!
We were visiting from Canada for my birthday and I wish I could go back.
We had drinks (great drinks!), beers and lots of food!
We shared every plate except the oysters (we got 6 each) and couldn't eat more. I wish I could've eaten dessert...
Every dish is full of amazing flavor that the description on the menu does not prepare you for.
The chargrilled oysters were delightful, with a perfect amount of cheese and really tasted chargrilled, not the usual oven baked.
The tartare was much more flavorful that your average, the richness achieved with sweetbreads (what a good ideal and execution).
The alligator and Mirliton were a roller coaster of flavor I could never recreate and I really wish I could.
I liked the duck hearts, but was not impress. I would try something else.
I often make brains at home and I can tell you their veal brain is perfect, I really would eat them again and so should you, especially if you are afraid and never had a brain.
I remember a dish that came with a light, fluffy horseradish cream, I think it was the brain, and I fell passionately in love with it. I almost licked the bowl and beg for more.
At the end of the meal, we were pleasantly surprised that the bill was not as high as one would expect after such a big amount of stellar food.
In fact, I think it is not expensive at all for such quality and originality.

Really enjoyed lunch here- menu items are definitely rich and savory. Can't speak to the dinner menu, but would absolutely return. Loved that our waiter explained how to eat unique dishes like the drum neck

Amazing food, atmosphere, presentation, and service. The flavors were wonderfully complex and very, very satisfying. The service was without peer. One warning though - the desserts are huge, plenty enough for two, and attempting to eat one by yourself maybe the happiest way to leave this planet.

Excellent drinks. Cheerful serving staff. Chargrilled oysters, tuna tartare, and alligator were fantastic. The hot quail is definitely for those that like spice. The backstrap venison was perfectly rare. If you're a fan of german chocolate cake then save room for the bread pudding. Will be back with guests and clients!

Excellent service. Definitely for the diner looking for a fresh take on local food. Love the idea of small plate dining. Gives you the opportunity to try many dishes at one visit. The char-grilled oysters were excellent as well as the slate-blackened redfish and octopus courtbouillon. The deviled crab was bland. Nevertheless, a great dining experience.

The crawfish pie was delicious and was my favorite. I was not big in the quail. It had a spicy kick to it but just not completely right there- not sure about what and why but one thing for sure was the temperature. Perhaps it was due to it got fired too early yet had to wait for the pie to be ready- it was only kid of like warm.
Over all it was very good experience. Fabulous vibe and deco. Our waiter Chris explained the drink and dinner menu very well with great details and highlight!
