El Stuffed Pepper

This place is great! It's small inside (long and narrow) but plenty of room for patrons. They were very busy (at 11:25am) yet we were seated right away. Waitress, Erika, was very sweet, polite and smiling! This was our 1st time here and she asked 3 times if we were ready. Finally we (me, husband and adult daughter) settled on the lunch taco salad, lunch chimichanga and the a la carte 3 tamales. Food was served quickly and we were finished by 12:15. Everything was great, authentic and delicious, and very reasonably priced! We'll definitely go back!

Always consistent, always fast, especially friendly with the locals. It's your typical Tex Mex serving all the staples, so probably not a lot of surprises here, but let's face it - it's a Mexican restaurant in a strip mall, you knew what you were wanting when you came in. They do it as well as anyone in the area, in a clean unpretentious space. Even with fast turnaround, lunch can get a little busy, but manageable. Worth the trip if you are nearby.

Good food, good people, good prices. I have been here many times with various people, but most often with one relative. It helps time & comfort to have servers arrive with our non alcoholic drinks as soon as we sit down. A few older locals may hang at the bar in back, as kids from ballgames are in the middle. If you want away from the kids noise, just tell them; they will do all they can. Free chips & chunky salsa are followed at our table by small cheese dip that's not very spicy usually;, chicken burrito special with mild red sauce , sour cream, tomato,etc.; & either a taco salad or steak tacos, beans & rice. The soppapia with cinnamon & honey is also good. Iced tea here is also good, thirst quenching, important to us Southerners. Shrimp quesadilla & grilled chicken tacos are good. Remember everything is fresh here & spiciness can vary.

El Stuffed Pepper is the Perdido Mexican Restaurant. Tucked away in the strip of Belle Meade Plaza is a stereotypical mexican restaurant, but an above average quality dining. You cannot beat the salsa. Some may say the food is satisfactory, but you cannot beat the service of their personnel. Marco, Fernando, and Felipe are quickly dishing dimes at all times with customer satisfaction as their first priority. - Zeke Anderson

Pleasantly surprised to go to neighborhood place. We tend to wind up at the one closer to the highway out of habit. So we broke the chains and drove the other way .3 miles away, could have walked... Place is not too large and was average in crowd but wait about 30 minutes into 630 or 7, lots of families in the area with kids still in highschool uniforms. Def a place for regulars. I think BC it is so close to a few schools and it is smaller people like to feel at home. Food is why we came. Awesome awesome service should be noted. I think menu was large but honestly I usually get the soup or fajitas. No soup here darn... But tried the combo of taco Chile rellanyo and burrito Did not come close to eating it all. No one did. Salsa was amazing. Rice was perfect, not sure of the beans ...looked like cheap Mexican beans and since it was our first time there was not about to wager. They could be a secret recipe for all I know, but I was not going to bet my stomachs real estate footage on them instead of the stuffed pepper which was amazing and my new go to. Not sure when we will be back, old habits die slow but we will be back. The price was spot Ob cheaper than any other place so I guess the Green Hills and Belle Meade peeps know their way around good inexpensive Mexican. Not sure what to make of the expensive new place in the gulch..just seems like an oxymoron.. We shall see but for now this place rocks!
