Avow Napa

Had a wonderful experience at AVOW. We came here for a team dinner and were a big group to manage. The food was delightful and we all enjoyed the views from the patio. I was the only team member with a food allergy (gluten), and the dessert option contained gluten. I was assured the staff that I was fine going without dessert, but then the chef brought up two freshly baked gluten free cookies ❤️ they didn't have to, but they went the extra mile and I so appreciate their thought and care in their service.

An absolutely fabulous find. The food was great and with a creatively unique flavor aspects. We stayed with a number of the small plates and they were consistently well presented and delicious. A definite recommendation to anyone who enjoys fine dining and is tired of the standard ethnic restaurant definitions.

Our party did the tasting menu and overall the meal was good. What was very impressive was that we could pick whatever we wanted for the tasting menu as opposed to the traditional way of having a pre-fixed menu. I think because we all picked our own dishes and wanted to taste everything, it maybe made dinner a little longer. There were some really good dishes, but we were underwhelmed by the rabbit. The service though was fantastic and we had an amazing time there! We would recommend going there for dinner!

Absolutely amazing!! Such a well kept secret that I’m not sure if I want to share with anyone out there. However, the food and the service was so spectacular when I was there a couple days ago, I really want to get the word out. They were able to serve different things for the two of us who ordered the 5 course tasting menu so we could try 10 things in total. They were also accommodating our requests to include anything on their regular menu. In between drinks, we were offered with free sparkling wine just to keep us thirsty for more ;) The food and creativity was way over the top!!

Food was great! We thoroughly enjoyed each appetizer, entree, and dessert. However, we did need to send the NY strip back because it came out room temp/almost cold. They took care of it, chef brought out a new plate, and they took care of our desserts. Much appreciated in that aspect. We had to ask for water refills a few times, but no big deal. The plastic wicker chairs at the roof top bar ARE NOT COMFORTABLE.

This place was absolutely incredible! AVOW has the kindest staff, the most brilliant chefs and a super gorgeous location! I still cannot believe how incredibly delicious each and every meal was! All the flavors were incredibly balanced and worked in such harmony that it was like a symphony in my mouth! We were in particular fans of the miso roasted brussels sprouts, since they prepared exquisitly with just the right amount of crunch and tossed in a sauce that has the right amount of punginess from the garlic, a tiny kick from the chili and an almost nutty flavor from the sesame. We will definitely be coming back here as often as time and budget allows it!

This restaurant is insane. Seriously. I’ve had food that was half as good in restaurants twice as crowded for three times the price. Every single dish we tried was mind-blowing. The flavors are just perfectly balanced and complex. The miso brussels sprouts and Thai chili ponzu were especially good, but I’d want anything from the menu as my last meal. The waitstaff was very helpful and friendly, and the menu was well-marked for vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, etc. options. The building itself is beautiful with great views of the river and even has a rooftop bar. (There’s an elevator available.) We didn’t try any of the wines or other alcoholic beverages, but the menu there was pretty extensive as well. Whoever is writing Michelin reviews needs to drag themselves away from the vineyards for an evening and give this place the recognition they deserve. For everyone else, go here before it’s no longer a hidden gem. We walked in without a reservation and were seated immediately, but with this level of cuisine, that won’t last for long.
