Eh Burger

Visiting the U.P., we had intended to get pasties, but each place we stopped at was take-out only. So we figured that if we couldn't get one food reflective of the local history and culture, we'd look for another: whitefish. Order at the counter, then take your beverages and find a table. Food (whitefish basket) came fast--and HOT. While there is a 'pick-up' window, the food was brought out to us. (Domestic beer comes in 16 oz. cans.)

I'm very glad me my dad and my uncle decided to eat here the night we're up here in munising. My uncle got the fish sandwich and me and my dad each got a mushroom hunter burger and we split an order of tater tots. The mushroom hunter burger was absolutely fantastic. The beef itself was good quality and much better than you'd find at any fast food place. It was seasoned very well too and was deliciously salty. The toppings were all delicious and worked together very nicely. And it was filled with mushrooms as any good mushroom burger should be. The fantastic food, as well as the surprisingly good-looking and pleasant interior of the building, really made me slow down and try to savor each bite. I wish I had gone even slower to enjoy both the delicious food and the beautiful surroundings inside the restaurant. So overall, I would say this place is definitely worth trying out. It's maybe a bit expensive for what you get. Like the side of tater tots which was 7 dollars. But still it was a pretty large basket of tater tots and I was totally fine sharing them. The burger is pretty big too though, so don't be afraid to just order a burger if that's all you think you'd need. And remember to slow down, relax, focus all your attention on enjoying your delicious meal in this small but pleasant restaurant, here in this small but pleasant town in the U.P.

Before 2023 it was veteran-owned and they provided veteran discounts. May still be true today; it was very busy and we did not hear anyone being asked this year. Will remove this intro if we hear otherwise. Regardless, they offer great service, good burgers, a decent variety of beers, and a choice of indoor or outdoor seating make for a nice meal. The name of this place drew us in. We needed to know what Holy Wah was. The staff was so nice and answered all the crazy questions we had about the UP and their restaurant. We had the mushroom hunter and the whitefish sandwich with fries. I asked for some Holy Wah sauce, and it was great! The fish was amazing. I'm so glad we decided to stop. I love that the tables all have maps of the UP on them.
