Rainbow Confections

Beautiful old timey candy store with a variety of treats for all ages! I've been going there for years and I've never had a bad experience. The fudge, popcorn and cotton candy is all made on site and is all very tasty. I'm personally a fan of the savory popcorn flavors as well as the dark chocolate fudges(they have multiple dark chocolate flavors). There's also a variety of vintage candy that I've never seen anywhere else. Staff is always very helpful and friendly. They also make shakes and malts! I had never had a malt before going there, and I was definitely missing out. If you're looking for a place to get some sweets snacks or ice cream to beat the heat this is it! As it's located downtown there's benches outside to sit and eat at, as well as an inside bench if you prefer AC. The soda collection is also impressive, I'm not sure of the exact amount but they must have over a hundred different types. Overall definitely one of the coolest shops in Monroe.

Stopped in on a nice spring Saturday afternoon as we smelled popcorn walking by. Seems like a nice little old candy store with good candy variety for kids. A woman in the front window was popping fresh popcorn. Another lure for those to come into the store for popcorn! I was surprised and greatly disappointed when I asked the girl at the counter for a bag of the popcorn they were popping, - as I would in Madison, Milwaukee or Chicago where popcorn shops sell fresh popcorn and you buy a freshly popped bag - But the girl told me they don’t sell the “fresh” popcorn. Instead she told us we’d have to buy the popcorn that was in plastic bags on the shelf. Bags which could have been there for a few days - not fresh, despite their obvious effort to lure people in with the odor and window display of freshly popped popcorn ! We turned around and left the store, disappointed, with no purchase. This customer lost to your false advertising. If you’re not selling fresh popcorn, then don’t pop it in your front window and blow the odor to the street, make the popcorn in the back of your shop. (I can understand sales of the plastic bagged popcorn when you are not running the popper, But I’m sure I must not be the first to be lured and disappointed. You’re missing a business opportunity.)
