Makisu

We were going to go to a different place but found out that they're not going to open until next week so we went here on a whim. The food was really good, the service was a little slow but it was a Saturday so some what understandable. I got my son to eat sushi, my nephew who's 7 tried sushi for the first time (not a fan, but we have something to work with.) I'm not a fan of mushrooms but I decided to try their stuffed mushrooms and they are really good. The service was a bit disappointing, it we wouldn't have made so many family memories while we were waiting it would have impacted the review more. If you're into supporting local and family restaurants this is a great choice.

Since I've been in Utah, I told my wife I wanted to check out a sushi place to eat since I haven't had it in awhile. After reading some reviews on Makisu, we wanted to check this place out. The staff were friendly, welcomed us to the restaurant. My wife was looking forward to trying out the Kai roll since it was wrapped with flaming Cheetos. The roll was disappointing. The Cheetos were stale. The other sushi rolls we ordered were better which were the Mars and Playboy. The fish was fresh but the sushi rice didn't seem cooked all the way. Sushi rice is supposed to soft and fluffy. Just a tip, it is a little tough in the parking lot, I almost missed the parking lot trying to find this place.

I recently had dinner with my coworkers here and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We started with their delicious calamari as an appetizer and then ordered about ten different rolls. We had a fantastic time trying all of them and each one was better than the last. Amazing food and a kind and attentive staff. I will be back soon!

This was my first visit to Makisu and they did not disappoint. The service was spectacular, the restaurant was clean and inviting. We had shrimp boats that were almost as good to look at as they were to eat. The Green lantern is a delicious roll. It had a fantastic combination of sweet, tangy, spicy and savory. The star of the meal was the bowl of spicy ramen. Pork, bok choy and an egg along with perfectly seasoned broth. It was delicious. I will be back. Often.

The sushi rolls were amazing! Very fresh as well as unique. The family who runs and operates this restaurant really love what they do and you can tell that in every bite! I highly recommend their signature Makisu roll or there fresh Sunrise roll. Their Makisu wings are also delicious and unique in flavor!
