One of the best meals I’ve had all year. Absolutely phenomenal form start to finish. The food was creative and interesting but approachable and most importantly delicious. Service was on point. Very cool space. Beverage pairing was fantastic.

Alter brings forth the artistry that Wynwood is known for to their modern dishes. Honing in on creative plating and exceptional service, their 9 course Chef's Experience tasting menu is the way to go at Brad Kilgore's art district location. The restaurant is dimly lit with abstract art lining the walls of the facility, including the restrooms. Service is prompt and informative and a seat at the chef's counter will ensure an added creative insight into the minds of the chefs mastering the stellar dishes. While the food is so carefully crafted and unique, in some dishes the direction is lost in complex flavors that overwhelm the basis of the dish. Overall, it was a great dining experience with a good value and a great spot to bring a group of foodie friends!

This visit was a fantastic surprise. Followed a recommandation without digging into the menu nor the multiple services tasting formulas. I’m usually not a fan of tasting menu, but my experience at Alter brought me more than hope. Attention: if you’re a chef and you’re looking to get creative inspiration, please try Alter. It was such a creative cuisine. Wasn’t perfect, but was so liberating, innovative and tasteful that I will remember my experience at Alter for the next 15 years. Service was friendly, impeccable and smooth. Highly recommended.

After previously visiting Alter for appetizers and cocktails we were excited to return for a full meal. I opted for the 7 course tasting menu to have the full experience. They also have a 5 course tasting menu, a la carte menu, and a 3 course Miami Spice menu that runs August through September. The 7 course tasting menu was creative, delicious, and well executed. Truly a gastronomic treat. The arctic char was the only dish I didn't love. The flavors didn't seem to work together, but it was a technical success and I appreciated the boundaries being pushed. The other 6 courses were phenomenal. We also had a few additional dishes like their famous soft egg which is always outstanding. We brought a few bottles of wine and paid their corkage, although their cocktails were fantastic on our previous visit. The service was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, unpretentious, and handled the wine exceptionally. Alter has a great vibe, it's somewhat casual but the food is anything but. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and dining experience. Overall, Alter is probably the best refined American restaurant at this pricepoint in Miami. I would highly recommend it.

Miami Spice 2018: Overall, the food was very good. The soft egg, was, in fact, delicious as other reviewers have mentioned. I felt the rock shrimp risotto was prepared differently than what I expected from the description (a predominant part of the dish was a four cheese mixture). It was still delicious, but very cheesy. Between the chocolate flan and the caramel dessert, I highly recommend the caramel dessert. Such a soft flavorful mousse paired with a cheese-flavored ice cream was a perfect way to wrap up the meal. Our server was awesome and explained every dish to us in detail and provided excellent recommendations.

On my opinion, the best restaurant of Miami. The food was very innovative and good. I really love the way they mix different of tastes together. We took the 5 courses menu and it was amazing. Be sure to try the soft egg, it was simply a life changer. The service was really good too.

Love the restaurant. We go twice a year for the last 3 years. Right off the bat, I must admit the current menu is not my favorite, BUT understand if you have never eaten here, then you absolutely must try it as its still one THE best current menus in Miami. To start, you should be a fan of molecular gastronomy (or st the least Google it) and know what to expect.Alter is one of the more restrained in this category of restaurant, but still impresses in this area nonetheless. Each dish offers a complex mouthful of textures and flavors that will honestly change the way you look at a meal. You're not here for quantity, but delicate qualities that make eating fun and not a goal to achieve. The BIG dissappoint for us is they also changed the cocktail menu and the Paloma is no more. If the owners read this : Bring back the Paloma. The new cocktails are decent , but that beverage was king and lingered in our collective minds for year. But again, for those thos who've not been, the cocktails currently are fine.

Delightful restaurant with inventive food and superb service in Wynwood! Really loved the flavours of the dishes, mainly made from local, seasonal produce. The main difference between the bar and the restaurant is that the restaurant offers a tasting menu of all the favourites.

The menu is always changing but there is not a bad dish in the house. If you are looking for original dishes with creativity and exceptional flavors this is the place. The cocktail menu is equally amazing. From the Franklin mule to the Guava of my heart the mixologists and their tasty concoctions are a must.

This place is great, it's located in a boheimian space in the cool arts district of town. Food was great and very unique, service was very attentive. I just wish there was a little more light in the space to see the food.

Great food, awesome service, unforgettable experience. The must order dishes are for sure: the blue crab shumai and the soft egg with bread and beurre. In addition we had the rabbit udon (in my opinion, not enough rabbit) and the duck breast. Next time we are planning to have the tasting menu + some cocktails - they all look amazing!

Awesome outdoor bar and patio. The outdoor menu has some great dishes, such as the brioche pictured below. The care Alder took with these bar dishes makes me want to return soon for their prix fixe.

Everything was so unique. I truly enjoyed everything, even if I wasn't sure when looking at the menu. I want to go back. Next time I want to sit on the patio. It's very loud inside. Literally my only complaint.

Absolutely amazing experience! Sat at the chefs table - you sit right on the edge of all the action! I spent the night chatting with the chefs and watching them work their magic. Chef Brad put together some stunning incredibly tasty plates. Well worth the trip. I know I will be back.

Really great experience. The menus are reasonably priced, although a couple of the dishes rather consist of cheap ingredients, even though greatly prepared. The service is very friendly and the wine pairing actually covers a lot of wine. Not all that great, but it's difficult to do something unusual and hit everyone's taste. It's a little missing the customer surprises and interaction like used from 1-3 star restaurants in Europe - however one of the most adventures places in Miami when it comes to fine dining!!

Dinner here is an experience. The food is beautifully presented and the taste is out of this world. Received excellent service in the bar area for Miami Spice. Cannot recommend enough.
