One of the best kept secrets in Memphis. No big flashy signs, no TV advertising and only open for lunch. You might be sitting with the suits from downtown or the blue collars off the utility truck. People who know good food come here for a great lunch. No paper plates or plastic sporks. Today chicken was the big choice ( two kinds) but there was also pork chops, meatloaf and the wide variety of vegetables. Lemon ice box pie was the perfect ending. Good thing I don’t live close as I’d be here everyday.

The food was exceptional. My fish was cooked to order (didn't take long) and to perfection I had to bring it home because I was full from the sides. This was my first time here and I'm coming back! Oh, the sweet tea was awesome as well.🥰🥰🥰🥰

My mom brought me here over 30 years ago and I must say the food is still made with the same love and the people are absolutely wonderful and welcoming,,,, if you're in the neighborhood and want some amazing food please don't hesitate to get (THE BEST ) soul food in the city yes (THE BEST)

I've been coming here for years and I love the food. Sometimes they do open later but that's understandable due to short of help these days. One of the best, if not the best place in Memphis to have some great soul food. Love this place.

If you are looking for a great southern ( Home Cooked Meal) then Stein's Is The Place. The staff was friendly and this home town favorite is definitely a staple in the community! Stein, herself came out and greeted all the customers. I will definitely be back and recommend Stein's to anyone visiting Memphis! 5 Stars all the way...I ordered the beef tips with rice, candied yans, navy beens, homemade cornbread and desert! Simply amazing n delicious!

Not much to look at from the street, but after trying any one of their home-made dishes (everything there is home-made) you'll be glad you went. Everyone there is friendly and accommodating. They truly appreciate their customers and it shows. The lemon merengue pie there is definitely worth bragging about. They also have pecan pie, which I am afraid to try because if it's even a fraction as good as the lemon merengue, I'll end up leaving in a diabetic coma.
