Church's Texas Chicken

Great service! Scott was new but very friendly even helped me save some money. Him n the manager were extremely nice. I didn't get the female manager's name. I called in my 2 dozen biscuit order ahead n she actually put them in the oven n they were ready when I arrived! My service was great even though we came just 30 minutes before closing! I will be returning! Thank you so much for the service! Even though they had had a long day they were still great to deal with, very hard to come by nowadays! Thank you for all you do for truckers! 😘

The food was hot and fast! We didnt have to wait longer than 4 minutes! The Baked mac and cheese was creamy and was cooked to perfection. We tried the regular and the spicy chicken and they were both amazing! The biscuits were hot and sweet and tasty. Even the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy was made perfectly. Plus the price wasnt to expensive!!! My fiance drove me all the way to Marshall, Illinois from Terre Haute, Indiana all because he swears Church's Chicken is the best fried chicken place within a 100 mile radius! We will definitely be making this a regular monthly stop!

Ordered the 10 pcs leg and thigh. Had 2 legs and the rest thighs. Chicken was not fresh, it looked and tasted like day old chicken. All of it was hard, dry and had no flavor. Seeing as I made my purchase around 1 p.m., I can only conclude that this chicken was not fried on the day I ordered it as I doubt being inder a heat lanp for a couple of hrs would render chicken inedible. This experience was very surprising to me because this is a regular stop for me traveling back forth CA to IN. I jhave to say, this experience has made it so I'll never eat here again. I guess they figure truckers order to go and get back on the road, so who ccares.All I know is, I better not get sick. Hopefully the one bite I took before throwing the box away won't have any affect on my stomach. What a disappointment.

Hours listed online say they are open until 10pm, I went out there a month ago and they closed at 8. I went this evening anticipating early closure so I went at 7 and sure enough they changed their hours again and there was a note posted on the menu board saying they are now closing at 7. Disappointing. Also, their order speaker hasn’t worked in about a year and they require you to go inside.

This is the third time I’ve gotten bad food at this location. First time was just before they closed and so I got the old chewy tenders under the heat lamp instead of them cooking my food fresh. Next time was middle of the afternoon but the result was the same. Old chewy tenders yuk! Just ordered the garlic herb fish... no garlic, no herb overcooked Walmart fish patties being passed off as a specialty food item. I ordered four fish patties a reg. corn half gallon of tea and a large coleslaw ( which I did not get, instead I got a large fry) and it cost me 18$. This is not the churches I am used to eating at. Will not waste my money here again. I’ll go to the Taco Bell across the highway. Posting a picture of the “specialty” garlic herb fish for your enjoyment.
