The Catch

We’re new to the area, and heard great things so we were excited to try this place out. Sadly we came away pretty disappointed and probably won’t give it another shot. Service: 3/5 They were pretty busy, but we’re slow with orders. Watch one poor lady give up after waiting a super long time for a take out order. Our order was delivered to the wrong table, taken to the kitchen then brought back. Food: 2/5 Super disappointed here - boiled shrimp was overcooked and hard to peel, was served dry, the catfish lacked seasoning, the fries were basically McDonald’s fries, and the hush puppies were overcooked, and the po’boy was way too much bread (not great bread, seemed day old) for the small piece of fish inside, lettuce wasn’t fresh. Cleanliness: 3/5 Tables and floors weren’t very clean, but they bussed and wiped our table just before we sat - and at least it all smelled of pine sol. The floors were a little slippery, like there was grease or oil on them. All in all really wanted a nearby seafood place we could count on - so we’ll keep looking.

This was our first visit to this location. I was very disappointed in the gumbo. It was not hot and lacked taste. The catfish filets were hot and ample size. Oysters were just right. The fried green tomatoes were cooked well just lacking any seasoning in the batter. Out of Key Lime Pie. The Tyler location definitely has me spoiled.

Terrible. Food was pretty bad. Ordered about $60 of food. Fried green tomato fishfry/corn meal was loose and caked up under the top batter. Wife ordered a grill shrimp salad and salad come out with enough salad to go a Poboy and shrimp fried... Frys cold and overcooked. Had to get my kids McDonalds afterward.
