Outback Steakhouse

Definitely do not recommend the Outback in Lumberton, NC. We arrived in 2 separate vehicles with a party of 5. We got on the waiting list and was told they're would be a 35 minute wait. When the other vehicle arrived, they too asked to be placed on the waiting list. Their party was called before ours so apparently this place does not go in order of arrival for the same amount of people. Meanwhile we went to the bar to get a drink and was never acknowledged after waiting 10 minutes. Yet several others came after us and were served immediately. After we were seated, our drink order took 33 minutes to arrive. One that was in our party was pregnant and a bus boy overheard us complaining because we couldn't even get a glass of water for her. He was nice enough to bring it himself. The manager Sky, walked through the tables asking parties how everyone was but when we tried to talk to him, he ignored us and continued walking. One of our party went to the bar to pick up a drink to help our waitress out and the bartender Candice, was rude and snapped at him. The shrimp on the barbie was too salty to eat, the toasted bread too hard and none of the food compares to the Outback in Florence SC. Our waitress was the only thing enjoyable about this trip. We will never return here.

The food was not as good as I had thought it should have been. We arrived round 4 pm so dining room was not busy. It started with bread, which was not hot and fresh. We waited and waited for server to return but it took several minutes. We placed our orders and the first item she brought out was cold. Item was potato soup. Again we waited for server. She came with the other food and again my baked potato was warm, it appeared it sat in window under heat lamps, butter had melted and was in plate. My partner's prime rib sandwich was not right. Bread was crunchy, not what we were expecting. We told the server of all our issues and she tried to correct them. Outback used to be a great place with good food. Maybe it was just this location however, whatever the reason you need to correct.

As a nurse, I look forward to lunch when we order out. Ordered the Alice chicken today. It was terrible. Very dry and looked like roadkill with some overcooked unidentifiable cheese and 1 piece of bacon on the top. No sauce. It was adorned with 3 pieces of mushroom. The Mac & cheese that I paid extra for was mainly dry noodles. The only thing that was good was the bread and the sweet potato. I rarely write negative reviews but this one deserves it. The pic is someone else’s food. Mine looked worse.

I ordered an outback burger with lettuce, tomato and mayo and fries. This is what I got— Then husband’s salad w/ranch came, only there was no dressing on it AT ALL. I ordered unsweet with lemon and Sweet and Low…got unsweet tea, no lemon and Splenda. Waitress must have been new because it seemed to never occur to her that the burger was missing its bun, lettuce and tomato! Smh

My husband paid $128 and this is what was delivered to our house and yes you guessed it right; they want answer the phone.BURNT & OVER COOKED. So I’m putting Outback on BLAST: that it should be Against the Law to send out food like this ex specially for the Prices you charge and then you have the nerve not to accept nor return phone calls….smh….People Please Be Ware‼️

Everything was delicious as usual. I worked at this establishment for many years and know they are clean and have standards on their product. And would return anytime. Every once in a blue moon my steak may come out a little over so instead of medium I order medium rare. The blue cheese chop salad is great.
