Mi Ranchito

I heard great things from friends, and being newer to town, I finally gave them a try. I saw the picture on their Google review here for Colorado Enchilada and wanted to order that. I walked in and saw it listed on their whiteboard at the entry and definately wanted to try it. I made my order with the waitress and when the food came, there was no white sauce. I thought maybe the waitress misheard me and I got the wrong item, so I checked with her about my dish. She said the enchilada version did not come with the white cheese sauce. Only the burrito version. I also ordered some sour cream to go with my meal since there was no sauce on the enchilada. When the check comes, I'm charged $2 for a small side of sour cream! I double checked their whiteboard menu on the way out, and took a picture. Clearly mentions the sauce. So, the waitress straight up lied. So between that, the $2 sour cream, and the food just being ok, I dont plan on coming back. Was not worth the money to me and the thing about the sauce left a bad taste in my mouth.

Had the Carne asada Tacos today, fantastic food, great flavors, can't wait to come back and try something else, Carne asda burrito dinner is fantastic Ive spent alot of time in Mexico this is by far the best most authentic Mexican food in the KC area(this burrito was made to my specs the normal is alot better but I can't hold it in my hand while on the move

Service was friendly. I had steak fajitas, steak was in large pieces overcooked. Peppers very few, large pieces, would be better if small slices only was given 2 pieces. Onion would be better in small slices. Didn't get any shredded cheddar cheese with mine. I asked for some and was charged $2.65 for a Very Small amount, probably a tablespoonful. You usually get the cheese with fajitas at any place ive ever gotten them. Very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend

On a cross country trip, planned to stop and stay overnight in Lawrence so I could go to the Haskell Indian Nations Cultural Center and Museum. I was so disappointed that it was closed, even though we arrived within the open-hours posted on the website. We were hungry, so we picked this restaurant when driving back to our hotel because Mexican food sounded good. We were not disappointed with our meals (and we're particular about Mexican food, having lived in the west/southwest for decades), both meals were great. The service was also excellent.
