Well let me put it this way, the food was good, not great. The service was good, not great. The prices were crazy, not great. Four of us with regular breakfasts one OJ and three coffees $108 with tip! Excuse me, what? There was no vibe. It’s a pretty plain little diner. Best news is it’s not a chain restaurant. Just didn’t feel welcome.

'22/2 1st time customer/review: -- Delightfully quaint breakfast/lunch spot. While the actual building & indoor dining is located on a very steep hill, the outdoor dining area is actually on the lower, flat portion backed up to the street. -- Parking is tricky, scarce, so be prepared to circle the block. Street parking is metered as well. -- Well staffed, and competent table service. -- Pleasantly diverse breakfast and lunch menus that breath fresh life into classic dishes without being too artsy or eclectic. -- Not tons of seating at this popular sit-down restaurant. So, wait times appear to be common...meaning that could be a negative for wrangling kids or mobility impared--especially given the steep incline AND steps to get to the indoor dining. -- Plenty of sturdy, wooden high-chairs. -- One, single user, uni-sex restroom. However, it's located in the upper, indoor dining building, so be prepared for incline walking/stairs to get to it depending on where you found parking. -- Entree Pricing: Breakfast $15 avg., Lunch $15-18 -- Hours are Tues-Sun 8a - 2p. I love the new vibe! We were greeted with a warm welcome. Our server was pleasant to chat with and provided us with prompt service. The avocado toast with arugula was absolutely delicious, my husband had a traditional bacon and egg breakfast also delicious. We weren’t happy with the potatoes but that wasn’t a problem they fixed it right away and treated us to delicious cinnamon coffee cake. I will definitely come back! I’d like to welcome Millie‘s American kitchen to the neighborhood and wish them many years of success! J&M

Had an enjoyable meal. Excellent service, good food, large portions and reasonable prices. Sunday brunch and it was super busy, but staff and service was good. Dining area a bit spartan, but pleasant. Had the omelets, large portions and tasty. Lots of parking. Outside dining area as well. Will be back.

Ordered pickup through DoorDash. I went to pick up my food and the owner was very curt and rude. He called me sir when I am clearly a female. I think he did that on purpose. Then he yelled at me to wait outside which I was going to. No need to yell. Then he forgot my syrup so I had to go back to get it. No apology or no thank you for your business. I honestly wish he would have just told me to eff off because it’s pretty clear he could care less for my business. I know my 40 dollar breakfast is no loss to him but I definitely will never spend a dime here again. All I wanted was some breakfast without the hateful attitude.

Not what it used to be after ownership change in 2022. Service was slow (only the owner was servicing tables/take out orders/app orders). No staff other than in the kitchen. Menu was different, and food came out cold, with smaller portions. Owner came across as a little bit of a jerk, which was consistent with the experience I had when i visited last summer in the original America Kitchen location on Lafayette Circle. Please hire some help, and good luck.
