Wendy's

I love Wendy's and it's easily my favorite fast food place, but not this particular location. While the food tastes fine - when I can get it, that is - I can never even get *on* the drive thru line because it is *always* a mile long. There have been many times where I just end up going to the McDonald's next door because even though it isn't my preferred burger place, whoever is running things there is top notch at handling long lines. Even ordering from this Wendy's through Uber Eats doesn't fix the line management issues - my orders always end up taking way longer than other restaurants in town do, they consistently get my order wrong even though it's extremely simple, and last night even I had an order get canceled, which has never happened to me with any other restaurant I buy from through Uber. I really wish this location was better managed because it is the most convenient one in town for me, but alas...

This Wendy’s has to be the slowest and most incompetent in existence. Cashiers go back and forth from cashiering to preparing food so the line backs up because they take AT LEAST 10 minutes to prepare someone’s food. Shouldn’t someone else be designated to do this? They will have you standing at the front of the line, not communicate to you at all, and will help you nearly 10 minutes later. Absolutely ridiculous. And don’t get me started on their mobile orders. They advertise “order online and skip the line” and that is an absolute lie. They will make you wait in the back of the line, regardless if you made a mobile order and they will not prepare the food until you get to the front. That defeats the purpose of ordering online so what is the point?

I decided to do take out from Wendy’s this morning. They were quick, tasty, and the food still hot. Their “spicy chicken nuggets” are not really very spicy, but much better than regular chicken nuggets. Their sandwiches are always excellent. The three young girls from Doordash who delivered it had “Not Hate” painted on their window, but a Mercedes car symbol instead of peace symbol. Maybe the incorrect symbol was a joke, not a major mistake. But it kept me laughing through my food.

Hit or miss. Sometimes, the staff seems so angry to be here and I get that. Owners should pay people better, and maybe they'll care more. The new fry guarantee helps. Now, they need a nugget guarantee. Nothing like cold, soggy nuggets to turn a weekly visiting customer into a monthly visitor. Edit: I was the first lunch customer today, by chance, and the nuggies we're perfect.
