The manager absolutely makes the experience, I may be mistaken, but I believe her name is Dorothy. She is very friendly, accommodating and understanding of the customers time. She seems to have an engaging way of keeping her team functioning, as even though they were packed, we got our order (correctly) in a timely fashion. Dorothy made her rounds throughout the dining room, ensuring each guest was enjoying their experience and I honestly felt like I was receiving better service than I do at most of the full service restaurants in town. The food was delicious, but her touch is really what motivated me to write this.

This location is awful. I picked up food for lunch htime. Their frying oil needs to be changed, the corn had to be leftover from the day before as it was totally dried out, and the biscuits were like hockey pucks. The corn was not able to be eaten and thrown away and the biscuits were thrown out for the birds.

I went to the KFC on Crain Hwy in La Plata Md twice this last month. Both times the French fries were old, cold, and hard. They were so hard I couldn't even chew them; they were like hard rubber. The chicken was also old, hard, and dry, similar to wood chips. Try to imagine that lunch. The 1ST time I asked for fresh fries, the lady I later found out was the manager. She told me she could give me fresh fries, but as far as the chicken goes, all the Spicy chicken (which was my selection) was like that. She added, if she cooks me a fresh box of chicken, she could lose her job. It didn't make sense to me why KFC would fire her for cooking a fresh box of chicken if a paying customer told her (and showed her) that they could not eat the old box of food they had received. I didn't want her to lose her job over a box of chicken, so I took the fries and left. The second time I went to the window, I got a box of old, hard, dry French fries and chicken again. So again, I asked for freshly cooked French fries. At that point, I heard a lady inside complaining about me asking for fresh French fries. While driving around front to go in for the French fries, I glanced in the box at the chicken, and I was shocked! I've never seen anything that looked like that chicken in my life. So, I decided to ask for a refund. When I got to the counter, and asked the individual behind the counter for a refund. The individual (lady) behind the counter started complaining and asked me what was wrong. When I told her I couldn't eat the food and wanted a refund, she started raising her voice, asking the Lord to help her through the day. I couldn't understand her reaction, So I asked her whether there was a problem. She started yelling and talking down to me as if I had asked her for free food. Then she had the nerve to tell me she was the manager. I told her I thought she was a horrible manager. Her response was 267 people believed she was a good manager. I didn't know what she was talking about until I thought about this site. I'm sure the 267 people she referred to never visited KFC when she managed it unless they were all her personal friends. Not sure why KFC made her a manager, but they need to revisit that decision quickly. I took my money and went next door to Popeyes, where the service was 150% better, and I was not afraid to eat the food.
