The Spot

Over the weekend we stayed in the ❤️ of La Jolla. We discovered this place and it didn't disappoint. So many options to choose. Daughter ordered wings and son the individual stuffed pepperoni 🍕 Hubby and I tried the lobster soup and split the delicious Cuban 🥪 😋 Everything was delicious and can't wait to return to try other items. Loved the Holiday vibe and captured a shot by their beautiful 🎄

Great food, clean place with an A rating on the window & a great atmosphere. Our server Kim was very attentive without being over the top. Food came out quickly but I could tell it was made to order. Everything we ordered was great- we had a party of 6 and all ordered different meals- all were really good, I don't think you can go wrong with anything from the menu. My kiddo had the chicken strips and it was fresh chicken, not frozen- and my super picky kid ate all of the huge serving. If we lived in the area this would definitely be a regular spot for us. Would highly recommend!

This is an old standard in La Jolla. I've been there many times, and I bring visitors to The Spot. They have an incredibly large menu pizza, seafood, burgers, and the best french onion soup around!! The soup is my favorite but the last time I was there... Two days ago, I had a bacon cheeseburger, it was very very good, you expect a burger to taste like a burger, but it was great, I tasted all the flavors the cheese the bacon the hamburger. I cannot go there without having a bowl of their French onion soup.. it has a great crouton a whole lot of cheese and a really really tasty base. And best of all, when you get a burger you have your choice of side, If you read under where it says french onion soup for a mere $2 or $2.50 I can't remember because it's well worth it you can ask for the suit as your side. As your side or your meal it is well worth visiting. And their menu is so large there is sure something on it to please absolutely everyone!

we just passed by this restaurant and it tasted amazing and made our day great! the onion rings under the lamb shanks were the best we ever had. the battered shrimp was also crispy and fresh. the spicy pasta could have used a little more depth but the pasta sauce was great to go with the bread on the side

We LOVED The Spot! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and our server was INCREDIBLE! Our family of four (6 & 15 year old kiddos) had an enjoyable evening dining at The Spot. We played a game of Trouble while waiting for our food. Our server was attentive and, offered recommendations, and accommodated our requests. We would highly recommend the fried fish tacos. The garlic bread was fantastic, too. Stop by The Spot and enjoy!

Great location. Great food. Great service. The outdoor seating is best. Inside is a bit darker and louder. All of the food we had was really good. Some of the dishes were a bit more expensive, but you are paying for the location. I would eat here again to try more of the menu. The fish tacos and chicken fingers were flavorful. The onion rings were good as well.

My Husband and I visited The Spot on an early Sunday evening while visiting La Jolla, we actually had seen it in passing and when I was researching restaurants on Yelp later that day, The Spot came up with good reviews and had a good list of beer selections so we thought we'd give it a try! It did not disappoint! The Spot seems like a cool "spot" (pun intended) to catch a game as they had multiple TVs, plenty of seating, a decent sized bar and lots of long tables for larger groups. It gives off the "sports bar" vibes while maintaining a clean, relaxed environment. They offer a great selection of menu items, offering a good variety of something for everyone! We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer, and I ordered the Beer Battered Fish & Chips as my entrée while my Husband ordered the Garbage Burger - both dishes were really good! I will say the portions are a decent size, especially if your dish comes with fries, so come hungry!

My friend and I came on Saturday afternoon to sit in the sun outside and enjoy some cocktails and appetizers. The service was excellent, the watermelon margaritas delicious. While I initially thought the prices for appetizers was high, when they came out they were sizable and delicious and beautifully presented. Recommend.

Super awesome place and very friendly. We tried for Jose’s first as tourists told us it was great but they were so rude to us as a party of 2 to sit outside. They wanted 6 people so we walked to The spot and was treated so nicely and sat outside under a nice warm flame. Enjoyed some great apps a salad and a pizza. Happy to recommend this place for a warm welcome. Thank you for your kindness. It is priceless these days.
