Visited mid-week with friends, great atmosphere, great food and super friendly staff. Drinks seemed a bit pricey but the food was good value. Thank you.

Had a great t-bone steak. My friend had a sausage and big Yorkshire pudding. The food is great. Great service.

18 friends had a lovely meal. Very impressive diverse menu. All meals were hot and tasty and reasonable prices. Very polite staff. I will definitely return. Most 2 courses were under approx £20.

Absolutely great place to visit. The location is great, right on the canal. I could imagine when it is busy the waiting time may increase, but the meals are worth waiting for

The food is average, but the place is nice. It have a garden site near a river (very nice). On hot days it is hard to find a table there. In the garden there is a playground for kids. Generally i recommend it.

My 80th Birthday treat with my wife and granddaughter.
The weather was glorious so we sat outside and our granddaughter really loved the play area.
Food was ordered at the bar and delivered to the table. It was all first-class.

1st time visit eat and drank in the beer garden.
The food choice is excellent and very tasty plus good play area for children although we could take our dog into the garden I wish there was a small area indoors to take her in the winter when we can't sit outdoors.
While the weather is nice we will definitely visit again.

Well what can I say , I purposely used to stay away from this pub/ restaurant as I found the food poor and the staff miserable as hell but what a massive change around . My partner almost forced me to get some food here but what a good call.great food and generous portions , reasonably priced and really friendly cheerful staff. Hats off to all working at the black boy . I will now be more frequent to see if was not just a one off and all going well will certainly recommend to friends . Well done black boy 👍

Booked a table for four on 05/08/23 @ 20.00. Even though we were early on arrival, we were given an even better table. The food and service in this establishment was outstanding and we will definitely be returning again. Thank you so much to the staff that looked after us all night and especially Mark who took the time to come and welcome us personally to this fantastic venue.
