Super cute. You can tell it's a mom and pop place that had somebody inject some trendiness into it. Although in the middle of summer, it was cool and very rainy but inside it was warm, which was welcome. Service was fine, I was greeted right away. Okay, food. I personally didn't like it and most likely won't be returning. I'm not keto anymore, but very low carb. No options for that, like greens or keto bread, but there were options for gluten free and vegan folks! Not a problem, I'm used to having to make do without other options. The real reason for the lack of stars is the salmon benedict. I've never had canned salmon, it's always been lox. This benedict was canned salmon and the dish wasn't seasoned at all. Although I overheard my table neighbors say their food was good, they also asked for salt and pepper. All of the tables had it, actually. I DID appreciate the fresh tomato and spinach although I would've preferred it on the side.

Great breakfast. The biscuits and gravy is very good. That's not easy to get right. My son got pancakes. They were huge. His bacon was cooked perfect. The potatoes are OK, a little bland. The service was fast and friendly. We'll definitely go back.

If you’re vegetarian or vegan, you need to go here. I’m used to going to breakfast and having eggs, toast, and potatoes as my options, but wow! Biscuits and vegan gravy? Vegan eggs Benedict? Tofu scramble? And everything tastes heavenly! Would give more stars if I could.

I've always recommended Christopher's as one of the best restaurants in the area. But I've always had them for dinner. Went this morning for breakfast with someone and the food was terrible. Potatos weren't salted, the biscuits were dry, crumbly, and slightly wet somehow. Had to just toast some bread and eat the gravy with that instead.
I'm embarrassed and confused why the breakfast is so bad when the the dinner is excellent. Can't recommend them anymore til I understand what happened.
Edit: Found that several of the items were the wrong items too.

Christopher's is the true definition of generosity and southern hospitality when my family ate there while visiting from North Carolina. They also graciously hosted a space to hold my brother's Major promotion ceremony in the Air Force. The prime rib dinner is to die for (gotta get the mashed potatoes and broccoli as your sides). The desserts are out of this world and he even made sure we all got something to our likings. It was perfect because it meant that I could share and taste all of the desserts :) Christopher took the time to visit with all guests making everyone feel like family.

Really good local diner, packed (I mean PACKED) with people! The chicken salad sandwich was excellent and my granddaughter seemed to love her mother’s rice, which she grabbed off mom’s plate in handful and smashed all over her face!
Highly recommend making reservations in advance on the weekends.

Christopher's has a variety of choices of food. They serve breakfast , lunch, and dinner, my favorite is breakfast, the egg sandwich with home fries, for lunch I suggest tier grilled cheese and dinner any of the pasta dinners is great, and you can chose on the lighter side a smaller sized meal. A person can eat healthy at Christopher's and feel good about it.

Located in a strip mall and easy to find, but a sense of a country cafe, very friendly staff got seated in a min, coffee in two, ordered one of my favorites Corned Beef Hash, two eggs and the toast., which is from scratch.

Recommended.

Great food and great service. I love the house made salad dressings and eclectic menu. Blackened Salmon is fantastic. I love that everything on the menu is locally sourced and made in house. Fresh food and a revolving assortment of dishes make this a frequent dining spot for my family.

Terrible. I have been here a few times, and the servers have always been in a rush with a terrible attitude. But, I did over hear what I assume to be the manager being very rude to his staff, so maybe thats why.

Warm and wonderful!. Christopher's is a great sandwich, soup, and salad place. It out shines Panera by far in my book. But, it's not just a sandwich shop. There dinners and monthly specials are wonderful. Their have "bring you back to home cooking" meals on their menu. I love their Chicken and noodles. A sign of just what kind of poor taste is allowed to fly in a conservative ignorant community.. The ingredients are almost ALWAYS poor quality (98% of the time), and I don't think there is a proper cook behind the kitchen window. The menu stays the same through years of changing tastes, yet clueless old people still fill the coffers of the owner, although it's pretty obvious that their employees aren't compensated well judging by their general mood and appearance. I wonder what kind of a fortune he will make when he sells this stinkburger of a strip mall restaurant to someone else with the same lack of care who undercuts and marginalizes most of the available talent. Don't go here unless your taste is dulled or you need a cheap breakfast for an even cheaper date the morning after.

The place seems filthy, with the same decor for nearly 20 years, and you can't even get a proper steak or seafood that isn't frozen and delivered from Gordon Food Services. They might as well call this Christopher's cafeteria, as the seating arrangement is terribly cramped and the staff is perturbed from either years of neglect or the poor wages the slave driver of an owner doles out record profits and plays the conservative "family man" times are tough act.

I think I saw the owner with a fat banker man one day, I wonder just what exactly the whole purpose of this place is? It's not to afford even a 2 star meal, and the breakfast is on par with a the continental variety you'd be served at a motel.

Do yourself a favor and don't even go to this slummy crap-shoot everyone seems to love, you may preserve yourself the chance to acquire an actual sense of taste as opposed to fooling yourself like most of these bland noodle eating types are gloating and ranting to the greatness of this dump. Dayton's premier false idol of a wanna be restaurant that for no other reason than it being there for so long, has literally no other merit.

Great food great service great price!. Had a delicious dinner with great service from Tracy! Vegetarian chilli was THE best I've ever had outside of my kitchen. The salmon sampler was delicious and a great size for the price. You would have had a smaller portion with no sides included for almost twice the price!
Side salad was a very good size. And gelato for dessert!
I can't wait to go back!

A popular destination among many in Dayton, Christopher’s restaurant in Kettering is so popular because it’s a place that does just about everything; it’s got a very local and small-town vibe to it, but it’s still got a menu where you can find finer dining dishes.

Poor at Best. I have had the "pleasure", if that's what you call it, of eating breakfast here 3 times and dinner here once, because of work. The eggs were compareable to Cafeteria food. They were spongy and stiff with no flavor. The cinnamon rolls were not moist and the icing was not very good either. I tried the lasagna (regular & a bite of my co-wrokers veggie lasagna) both of which were immediately spat out in my napkin. The same thing happened with the dessert I tried, and I LOVE ALL DESSERTS! While I'm no food critic I cannot imagine how anyone can say the food is good and the prices are reasonable. I swear the food comes from GFS. It is overpriced and not worth anything more than Anything on McDonald's menu

Best Caterer for a Wedding!. We hired Christopher's Catering for our daughter's wedding reception and her groom's family ALSO hired them for the night before rehearsal dinner. Five Stars for this local restaurant's high quality food, excellent service, competitive pricing, and focus on customer satisfaction. Head Chef George, Holly, and proprieter Chip were super to work with and really, really came through for our daughter's wedding. Wedding guests raved about the food and we could not have been happier with our total experience. We will use them again and and highly recommend them for any group event!

Best place in town. Christopher's is one of my favorite places to eat in the Dayton area, and you will not be disappointed by the food or service. I love their sweet mint tea and their house dressing is so tasty. I have tried most everything on the menu. I highly recommend their Monday special of cabbage rolls. Their portions are nice sized and so I normally go home with leftovers. The are a bit pricey, but it is worth it.

New favorite!. I decided to try Christopher's because of the rave reviews I read on Urbanspoon -- I was not disappointed! The staff was wonderful, and the food was fantastic! They have plenty of options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. I ordered the salmon sampler dinner they offer. It was delicious! Three filets of quality fish each prepared a different way -- one blackened, another with a sweet asian type marinade and the third was seasoned with herbs. I was impressed with the portion sizes here. My dinner portion was not ridiculously huge like I'm used to when eating out. Our waitress brought out a plate of bread and salad, which apparently came with my entree. I tried the creamy dill dressing -- AMAZING! For dessert I decided to try the peach cobbler. Warm and wonderful! The portion size here was also reasonable (compared to the usual excessiveness in most restaurants!). Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back!!

Well Above Average and Certainly Not Ordinary!. Second visit - July 2012 - lunch - mediocre at best... came back for lunch after having had an amazing dinner here.

My mother had the lasagna, tea and it came with potato salad. Mom is not anything close to a foodie... she eats canned pasta, thinks Olive Garden is high quality Italian food...

when the tea came (she asked if it was real and the young kid said yes) she tasted it and made a face... I thought maybe it was just the heat getting to her, but she made me taste it. It was weird and nasty... she refused to ask for something else. She did not care for the potato salad, being used to mustard style which is very bold in flavor... this was a more typical bland style, but I thought it was fine for what it was.

Then her lasagna came and she made a face (this is not my mom at all... she mostly likes everything) she pushed it around her plate like a 5 year old for a while and then finally gave me a bite. It was again weird tasting and pure mush. I tried to get her to return it and she refused and choked it down. Her lunch was all around rather unpleasant.

My food was fine. I had the Christopher special sandwich (1/2 portion) and onion rings. The sandwich was a bit thin on ingredients, but was tasty. The onion rings were delicious. I am a light (female) eater and I wasn't quite satisfied, so definitely order the full sandwich unless you eat like a bird.

Sadly mom did not give them a chance to rectify, but it was awful and the service was a bit odd, it was as if 2 different people were waiting on us... once would come right after the other, that was until I actually wanted a refill on my drink and then it was a long time before either of them stopped by.

Had this been my first experience there, it might have been the last... fortunately I had a superb dinner experience (below) so I will try them at breakfast and again at dinner...

First visit March 2012 -came for dinner -

Hat's Off to this fantastic restaurant. It blends a warm casual atmosphere with food that is a definite cut most restaurants in this price range.

The menu is varied, with enough on the fusion/eclectic front to keep a long time SF'er pleased. The quality of the dishes was excellent, salads, breads and mains. We skipped dessert.

The restaurant is casual - the wait staff wore green t-shirts - but the food is well above casual or the typical run of the mill options around town.

Waitstaff was very friendly and attentive to all customers, not just their table. We had another server peek around to our table to ensure we had been cared for quickly upon being seated.

The timing of the food was a little quick, we had not even made it half way through our salads when our entrees arrived, but then we were doing a fair bit of intense tongue wagging, so we may have been eating much slower than normal.

The wait staff was very pleasant. We closed the place and when we saw them flip the sign we said we should probably leave so they could go. The response was not to worry, it would take them a while to wrap things up anyway. That alone would merit my return business, but that plus the fantastic food and overall experience... well, they'll be seeing me as often as I am in the area at mealtime!

I have eaten here almost 100 times in the last 5 years, and have NEVER ha a bad meal. The servers are the best in town and the food options will satisfy anyone from a vegan to an extreme carnivore. We actually had Christophers cater our wedding (3 years ago) and still receive compliments on our wedding food. Go there for breakfast if you never have - puts Bob Evans to shame! So good!. My husband and I went to Christopher's last night,(Sat.). It was very busy, Our server was excellent. I didn't catch her name but she was in a chicken costume for Halloween and had been there since 7:00am and it was around 8:00pm. She was still so friendly and accommodating and was working her little feathers off! I had the Alfredo Medley, light portion, and had to take more than half home. It was delicious! The garlic bread is awesome also. My husband had the Italian wrap and really liked it also. We had ordered carry out before but never dined in. We are anxious to try other selections. There are so many to choose from. Their carrot cake is awesome. I ordered a whole one last year for Thanksgiving.

Interior lacks a bit, but good sandwiches and vegetarian fare. My hubby and I use to come here pretty regularly when we both worked in the area. I'm a fan of the vegetarian biscuits and gravy, as well as all their vegetarian soups. The atmosphere is homey, like your grandparents' house. That might be a plus or a minus for you, but the tables are too close together and the place is quite loud. I'd go there a lot more often if the interior were better.

Best hometown restaurant. I walked into Christopher's not thinking much of it, its a very "ohio family run" restaurant, but the moment i opened the menu i was blown away at all the vegetarian friendly selections! I have not had one bad meal at Christopher's from the black bean burger to the veggie chili! Everything is so delicious. However if your craving the full extent of what Christopher's is capable of get the breakfast. The eggs are fantastic, but what has me coming back for more are the all vegetarian BISCUITS & GRAVY! Vegetarians should not miss out on this wonderful dish.

MUST EAT HERE!. I've been here a few times now, and it has become one of my favorites. The first time I went, it was during restaurant week last year and I had a bad experience. My partner liked it so we eventually went back. That time, I had the chicken and noodles and fell in love. It was cheap and delicious comfort food that was well prepared and used fresh ingredients. Then we had the bread pudding, and I was really hooked. The butter rum sauce makes my toes curl and now I ask for extra sauce because there is never enough.

The last time we went, I got the saffron risotto with squash, eggplant, and roasted red pepper coulis. I also added chicken. Some spots were a bit too clumpy, but 90% of it was delicious. I didn't think I would like the coulis, but it was delicious and really added to the dish.

My only gripe is that the service is a bit slow, even when not busy at all, but it's not too bad.
