Floga Bistro

Went to this place for the first time. Clean, friendly service and toddler friendly. We find Olive Garden to have better food. Con: warm bread was tasty with butter but the oil dip was gross. Tasted like old oil and had no flavor. The seafood scampi was something but def not scampi. The sauce had little flavor and was thick like it was made with flour or a can of creamed chicken.(see picture). The shrimp was overcooked and the crab was smooshy. The only thing cooked right was the scallops. The napoleon salad is just a caprese plate with thick cut tomatoes, fresh mozz and this super sweet balsamic reduction. So sweet I could barely taste the vinegar. My daughter got tender and fries. Fries were slightly overcooked but that wasnt the problem, they were missing salt.

So, we frequent Floga 2 times a week for Breakfast and have been for the last year. I have never had bad service previously or bad food! The sausage gravy is my favorite! We love coming here. HOWEVER, the last two times we have gotten the new male waiter. He comes to the table over 10 minutes after we get here to get a drink order. Then it has taken him another 15 minutes to take our food order. We usually come in before work and it is always an in and out under 40 minutes! He is not personable whatsoever. Both times he has gotten my order wrong which is not difficult. When I come I get either sausage gravy on toast or French toast and a side of bacon. Last week I ordered the gravy he said okay when I said over toast and it came out on biscuits. His response was “it only comes on biscuits” I explained it was not a huge deal but they always do it and have for the last year. Today I ordered French Toast and a side of bacon. There is 2 other tables so it is not busy. The tables include the regulars that we see every day and then a new group. He brought out breakfast and walked away I thought to grab the bacon but did not return for 10 minutes. I asked if I could get the side order or bacon and he said oh yeah and then went to the back and came out to tell me “I forgot to put it in I was busy”. Listen I can understand he is new, however it is not difficult to make sure you put the correct items in to the chef. When i said i would like the bacon to go he said “oh ok” went and put it in only to wait another 15 minutes for it and the check. Like I said we have had no problems ever and we love the owners they are great! This review has 4 stars because they are fantastic. This review is to bring awareness to a bad waiter! If you go, request sissy!

Best mozzarella sticks you will find in the area. Have also tried a couple of pizzas and the puttenesca, all very good. Some reviews seem to complain about the service, but I personally found it friendly and accommodating, maybe just not as fast as other places. I personally like not feeling rushed, so I appreciated their pace. This place is definitely a true bistro - hearty, tasty, classic foods at good price.

First I want to say I get their pizza for takeout all the time. It is very good and this review is not about their pizza. This is an Italian restaurant so we decided to dine in and have a family dinner. When we arrived there were 2 tables with customers. There were at least three booths that were dirty. And there must have been 5-6 people “working” the restaurant area. I prefer a booth so we waited for them to clear and “clean”. That was at least 5 minutes. Then our waitress took our drink order and came back with drinks. Then took our food order. No real issues at this point. After the food was delivered we didn’t see our waitress for over 15 minutes. Remember, there are still only two tables with customers. One table left. The food was delicious but I did t take pictures. We could hear them talking behind a wall. My wife went up and asked for a beverage refill. The waitress then brought it out. When we were done eating we stacked our dishes waiting for her to come back out. She finally came out and handed us a bill. She walked away. She did t ask if we wanted dessert, she didn’t take any of the dishes, it was ridiculous. We wanted to see the dessert menu. Again my wife went up and inquired about dessert. They bring out a tray of desserts so you can see them and choose. We choose the molten lava cake. The waitress brings it out and we STILL have a table full of dirty dishes. We had to ask her to clear the dishes. She took some but not all and then didn’t come back for the rest. I moved them to another table. My son, wife and I shared the dessert which was okay. Waitress finally brought the bill and we had to walk up to pay. She didn’t wait for me to hand her the card. What was she running off to do. There was no one in this place. One of my worst experiences dining in a restaurant. Won’t be back to dine in. See all the dirty dishes below. Again, ridiculous
