Assaggio

While I have to admit that it doesn't look like a typical Italian restaurant from the East Coast (it looks more like a modern Asian restaurant) the staff and food are amazing. The staff is second to none. And the food is all you could hope for. The veal piccata was melt in your mouth tender and full of flavor. My wife and mother had the chicken & shrimp creamy pesto and couldn't stop praising it. Well worth the trip and a very short drive if you're staying in Ko'Olina.

Every time I go there I have a wonderful meal with my family. I like to think of it as better than Carrabba's seems like everything's homemade! I don't know how there's not a line out the door most days you can go in and get a table long as it's not peak hours. It's a hidden gem and they have a few different locations now so it's not too hidden. But it sure is good and feels like it.

Our group of 4 ate at Assaggio twice during February 2023 and enjoyed the experience both times. The first time we had a reservation and the second time we just dropped in, but had nice tables both times. The servers are very attentive and the food is delivered quickly. All of us enjoyed our entrées. The first time I had the chicken and shrimp pesto, which is served with linguini and it was perfect. The second night I had the linguini carbonara. That was good too, but I thought the sauce was a bit thin. Someone else said the sauce was thin on her fettuccini alfredo, too. You can order the dinner entrees in small or large sizes, which is nice. And they're not that expensive ... around $18 for smalls and $23-27 for the larger portions. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it. I knocked off one star for the thin sauce.
