Gates Bar-b-q

Today I had a call in order for the first time. I was told that my order would be ready at 3:32. My order was paid for and I also tipped. I got there at 3:35. The cashier asked me my name and I told her and also what was ordered. It got busier after I got there. I thought that I would go in and right out because of order being prepaid. After 10 minutes of waiting, I asked the cashier how much longer. She smartly replied, we got all of these orders here before you and you just got to wait. I thought to myself, my order was supposed to be ready at 3:32. People were coming in after me and getting their orders and leaving before me. I left at 4:16 and cancelled the payment. I am an elderly lady and I expected to go in and pick up my order and leave. I didn't want to be in that waiting area that long, although we all had on masks. That was the purpose of calling in and paying before hand. I will never prepay there (40 hwy) again. NOT GOOD ☹️

This place is horrible. The food is over priced and the service is horrible they yell to take your order and still the order comes out wrong.. Not to mention the people taking your order is rude and unpleasant... I would recommend jack stack if your looking for good food and author Bryant if your looking for great for at great prices. I'll never enter a Gates again not to mention this is a pandemic and none of there workers wear mask

This was our 1st time here. The cashiers looked mad and were not helpful. The supervisor was very nice and helpful with our orders. She had to prompt the cashiers to ask us questions and reminded them that we have small children so need to make their meals with no sauce. The woman bussing tables was extremely friendly and accommodating! The food had good flavor but the ribs were pretty tough. Also, no kid options available. Would have been nice to have cups with lids.

This is not the Gates of old. The food is still good. But the service and experience is not what I've come to expect. Instead of getting the greeting from the door of the famous "hi, may I help you!" It is , wait in line till you get to the register like any other place. So if I were to recommend a Gates to someone I would tell them to go to the Brooklyn location. With that being said the rebuilt location is nice and clean and updated. So that is nice. And the food is the same. The only change is the experience
