Stopped here for lunch on the way to Akaka Falls after finding it on Google maps and it was a perfect choice! Cute, funky cafe with delicious sandwiches. We had the Surf Club wrap, the grilled Puerto and the grilled Spinach Artichoke — all yummy! Highly recommend!

Quiet place with great food and a great atmosphere. Perfect food stop after visiting the Akaka Falls. Lots of good options and good coffee!

This is a MUST STOP! The food is so good and a healthy choice. We had the Puerto wrap and surf wrap, lilikoi tea, and pineapple tea. Everything was delicious and fresh! What a pleasant surprise it was to find this place in the middle of nowhere as we were passing through. Inside, they offer fresh baked treats as well as a few local goodies.

Great shop, quiet outside seating, wonderful coffee drinks, teas and smoothies. Fun and clean atmosphere.

We grabbed a quick lunch with old friends at Surf Break. The wraps are yummy and the iced tea is refreshing. The Puerto wrap was perfect and served with fresh salsa. They also have great local treats to choose from, perfect for snacking while driving around the island.

Great lunch spot after visiting Akaka Falls. The iced lattes are delicious and taste like actual coffee and not just the milk. The wraps are a great portion size and very tasty. Definitely recommend for a quick pit stop!

Seems to have moved due to pandemic...worth tracking down if still in business.
Later 4/22 we did find the replacement Cafe at Honomuu on the way to Akaka Falls 14 miles North of Hilo....go hungry and get Lunch....!!

We stopped in at Surf Break Café for a quick bite after a trip to the Waterfalls - we had delicious sandwiches, good hot beverages (tea and coffee alike) and a very friendly service. The food was a little wait but for the freshly made wrap and grilled sandwich which my dad and brother devoured, well worth the few minutes wait!
