Catfish Country

My husband and I went here a couple nights ago for the first time and had an ok experience. The place is very dusty and dirty, but our waitress was very sweet! The hush puppies are amazing, the steak was good and we also liked the coleslaw! However the corn on the cob was really mushy, the potatoes were overly greasy and my husband didn’t like his catfish.

Catfish country is great!!!! This restaurant is home cooking. Not super fancy or fine dining, just a good ole' country business. The seating and decor isn't anything special.... But the food, it hits the spot! I enjoy the fried green tomatoes as an app, and they give you hush puppies complimentary with each meal. For 4 people (3 steak and shrimp dinners & 1 chicken tender meal + drinks) it was $99. Priced fairly well. Server was great!!! I'm so impressed. We keep going back.

I love this place, food is great! Every now and then when we visit my husband's grandma in Mississippi we go there for dinner, the hush puppies are awesome and so fresh, the fried catfish is awesome, seasoned to perfection, dare I say is the best catfish around? Yes! Sides are always good and fresh, the slaw is one of my top 5 favorites. My husband has had grilled catfish and he says is also good, I've had the chicken gyro and it's sooo good. ( it has another name in the menu but can't remember what is it) . If you have a chance to go there go! It's totally woth it!

Was craving catfish and were staying in Horn lake, south haven area of Mississippi. Did a google search for catfish and two came up for the little town south of us. We actually decided to try out the first that it recommended but they were closed. I am glad they were. We put this place in the gps and decided to cal because it was another 10 mins away. Just a note, if you go, don’t get worried, it’s out there I promise and it’s so worth it. Portions and prices were great. Food was flavorful and it hit the spot!!
