Marina Tavern

Most people in our party seemed to enjoy their meals. I had the spaghetti Alfredo. I wasn't fond of it due to the oiliness and dry chicken. Couldn't finish my dish due to the unsatisfactory taste. But, as I said, others seem to enjoy their meals. The place is quite busy from 5 onwards it seems, so expect to wait a while for meals normally, like at least 30 minutes. Staff appeared friendly though. Going to give this place 3/5 due to my dish being unsatisfactory. Others may give it 4/5. So really should be 3.5.

This was our favourite meal on Hamilton Island, the steaks were perfectly cooked to our liking (medium) with a generous side of potatoes and steamed garlic veggies. Be warned though, it was a LONG wait for food. We arrived at 6.30pm, waited about 20 minutes to be seated and about an hour for food, which they did advise us. But we had great views of the marina and were happy to sit and enjoy a drink. If you don't have kids it might be worth eating a bit later, maybe 8pm to avoid the queues.

A fun place with great views and standard food - when you buy cruise packages and such, this place gives you great deals. Had gotten the southern fried chicken burger - and while nice, there was no real “southern flavour” given to the chicken. One downside here is the amount of birds just vying for your meals, hovering near you when you eat, instantly attacking on vacated tables, and making heaps of noise while they’re there. This is beyond the staff’s control tho so I can’t hold it to the establishment - just take it as a fair warning. They’ve got crowdDJ here as well so you can choose the music playing which is pretty good! Another plus is the great views and nice breeze this location has. Definitely worth the little walk.
