District Gurugram is located 30 Km south of National Capital New Delhi, about 10 Kilometers from Dwarka sub-city and 268 Km south of Chandigarh, the State Capital. Over the past 25 years the city has undergone rapid development and construction. The District is one of Delhi’s major satellite cities and is part of the National Capital Region. It is within commuting distance of Delhi via an expressway and Delhi Metro.The District is the second largest city in the Indian State of Haryana and is the industrial and financial centre of Haryana. It has the 3rd highest per capita income in India after chandigarh and Mumbai. It is also the only Indian city to have successfully distributed electricity connections to all its households. It is also the IT hub & center of various BPO companies. The District has been in existence since the times of Mahabharta. It is said that Yudhishter, the eldest brother among the pandavas, gave the village to his guru, Dronacharya, whose tank still exists on the west side of the Railway Road. Actual village “GURGAON” is about 1.5 Km. away from Gurugram town, where the temple of SHEETLA MATA, attracts devotees in large numbers on every Monday and Tuesday. Gurugram District has witnessed a phenomenal growth in all spheres of developments, particularly in industry and urbanization. Today, it has become a hub of multinational companies, industries giants, call centres, software companies, shopping malls and skyscrapers. Gurugram is strategically located with its boundaries touching Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Its excellent connectivity with other state via Delhi- Jaipur-Ahmedabad broad gauge rail link and NH 8, brings thousands of people to Gurugram for the purpose of work, travel and entertainment. Infact with the collaboration of Suzuki Motors of Japan and Maruti Udyog Limited in early eighties, a new area of rapid industrialization of Gurugram started as a result of which the District came on the international map. Maruti Suzuki in India’s Largest passenger car company. The automobile industry of Gurugram is producing passenger cars, motor cycles, scooters and its components. The Gurugram- Manesar- Bawal belt has emerged as the auto hub of the country, thereby offering ample opportunities to the entrepreneurs, There are many prominent and prestigious units involved in the manufacturing of telecommunication equipments, electical goods, sports goods, rubber products readymade garments and in software development. Other industries include light engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, agro based and foods processing, leather, terry towels, air conditioners, shoes, pesticidies, insecticides, etc. The main industries in these fields are Cosco. Enkay Rubber, Perfetti, Haldiram, HFCL, Martin Haris, TERI, Ranbaxy Laboratories etc. With its rapid development, Gurugram has emerged as an important District in Haryana and has done the State proud with its achievements.

Gurugram railway station is clean and well maintained. The cleanliness is upto the mark. And the area of the station is also good for passengers it gives a feel like native place. Thank you railway for the amazing service. The shopkeepers are also helpful for passengers and behavior of all was good. I requeste to the station master to maintain the same in Future.
