I chose this venue for a visiting Relative from Canada, who wanted to experience a full Sunday lunch roast meal in a Pub setting! She was totally taken aback by her roast chicken meal. The size of the Yorkshire pudding amazed her! The portions were a struggle, for both of us, to finish!! A very nice touch during our meal was : being asked if we would like 'more gravy'! The Pub was jam-packed with Families across all Generations. I am very pleased I had booked ahead! This is obviously a very popular Pub for Sunday lunchtimes! My Relative, was completely surprised about the popularity of Sunday lunches in a Pub!! Another UK discovery for a visiting Tourist!! I have scored 4 Stars for the food as I found my roast pork a bit dry!! However, extra gravy and apple sauce did 'help' with cutting it and digesting it. I also feel that the size of the Yorkshire pudding could be 'downsized'! Otherwise, Service and ambience score highly!

We recently dined here with a sizable group, and I must commend their ability to handle large parties efficiently. Our server was quite attentive, though at times a tad overzealous, interrupting our conversations with numerous questions. Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired - our meals were poorly cooked. The staff did offer replacements, which was appreciated. However, the oversight was still reflected in our bill, necessitating adjustments. While their service intentions were good, there's definitely room for improvement in the kitchen and billing department.

After spending many years visiting various establishments, up and down the country, looking for the elusive “perfect Sunday roast”, I think I might have stumbled onto something here. The roasts dinners here are right up there on the scale. Everything was perfectly cooked and had bags of flavour. Service was excellent and we didn’t have to wait long between dishes. All the staff were on top form, which heightened our experience. The only reason I deducted a star is that they advertised “bottomless roast potatoes”, yet when we requested for more spuds, they served us a lowly single potato on a tiny dish. We burst out laughing when it was served to us. A meal for two and they actually gave us only one extra roast potato. Aside from that small comedy show, the food and service was fantastic. 11/9/23 - Updated rating of this review, thanks to the very helpful response from the management.
