Amici Lake Oconee

We had an excellent meal at Amici. Their Amici salad and lemon pepper wings were amazing. We were lucky to have Amber as our server. She was cheerful, helpful and attentive to our needs! We highly recommend Amici at lake Oconee and are excited that Amber told us they are opening one in midtown Atlanta.

I wanted to love this location as much as the other Amici restaurants because they're great. BUT....1st visit a couple months ago, I ordered the antipasto salad. The lettuce that wasn't slimy was wilted and brown. The salad was to come with garlic bread but none was on my plate. When I asked for the missing bread, I was advised they were out. I requested crackers. Was advised that they don't have them either. The waitress brought me 4 potato chips. The entire staff seemed to be underage girls with no one in charge. Decided to give them a try while waiting for a movie. I ordered the tortellini. It came in a ramekin that should have held a small side salad and the meager sauce tasted as if it was straight from a can.Again, was listed as being served with garlic bread. I found 2 pieces of hard baked, flavorlesspizza dough about the size of my thumb. Definitely not worth 16.00. My husband ordered 12 wings with extra celery. (Our food was delivered by someone other than our waitress.) He recieved 3 little pieces of celery. We never saw our server after she took our order. Even tried to flag her down for tea refills to no avail. Again, no one in charge here. And the same underage staff. Not a good representation of the Amici family. We'll not be back to this location again.

Food is very good, more attention needed on the service side. We were there at 3:00pm and unfortunately didn’t get extra napkins for the wings, nor red pepper for pizza, we ran out of ice tea and had to chase down the check. On the food side, pizza, the salad, and the “xx hot” wings were outstanding. We enjoyed listening to classic rock and watching the game. Nice bar area. Parking could be an issue at peak times. Lots of specials and activities during the week.

[Takeout review] Overall: Great option if you're looking for some takeout pizza by the lake. The good: The crust is the standout takeaway in this pizza. It's crisp yet has a comforting chewy-ness to it, leaving it not too flaky but not too flabby. The toppings are piled on high, leaving every slice satisfying. They have a decent menu to choose from (as well as the salads and wings). The darkhorse of the meal was the garlic knots that came on the side of the salads, who doesn't love some good knots. The not-so-good: Took awhile for our pizzas to be made and the prices are a bit too high. The BBQ chicken topping combination was a bit odd and didn't quite work as well as it could have. First time going here and was definitely not disappointed! The staff was friendly, place was clean, and food was on point. Me and my wife decided to go visit on Veterans Day. Their Veterans menu really went above and beyond. They even had a table setup for the ones that couldn't have a drink with us tonight. This place will now be a regular stop for me and my wife. Thanks to all the front service, kitchen, back of the house, and management for going above and beyond! Also if you need the perfect drink made, ask for Taylor!
