This place has the best Chinese food, (certainly in Grayling and the Houghton Lake areas combined). They have great, big portioned and fairly priced with fairly friendly service.
The atmosphere is clean, but that's about all you can say. It's very plain and kind of "blah" and not very inviting looking. You shouldn't take a date here... guys that's a hot tip for ya 😏
Ordering and taking it to go to eat at home with your gal... that might just score you some points lol because it's pretty darn good.
Houghton lake's Chinese buffet is a close second, mainly because of selection and hey... it's a buffet. But sadlyLee's kitchen in Houghton lake should be avoided unless the quality changes.

Love this place. I order the same custom order every single time. Most places would get irritated but they're amazing and always willing to step up and make my food EXACTLY how I like it!! Never a complaint!! Food is always so fresh and so delicious!! LOVE MAI MAI

All I can say is that everything was amazing!! The food was delicious, perfectly prepared.
The owner, Jack, was such a nice guy! He guided us though the menu and made sure everything is to our liking.
We will come back for sure!

Simple atmosphere, but amazing food.. I put Mai Mai to the ultimate test: I ordered Thai Massaman Curry with their highest spice level. They brought the fire and the flavor. Plus, I love that they do the potatoes waffle style, so that they have more surface area to absorb the curry. My partner's green curry was delicious too! We will be back!

The food is good. The egg drop soup is really good even if it's actually cabbage soup. The spicy dishes are excellent! Would stop in again next time we're in town. Wonderful staff and atmosphere.

Conveniently located on business loop 127, Mai Mai was nothing short of amazing! I had the Spicy Noodles (N5) with chicken, my wife had shrimp Pad Thai. What an excellent dinner. If you are in town, you have to give them a chance. We will be back!

We were pleasantly surprised to find that this restaurant had gluten-free and vegan options. Our daughter has food allergies, which can make eating out a difficult experience for her. She wasn't with us but loves Asian food, so we ate in and ordered take out for her.
The menu was extensive and includes a ton of unique drink options including Boba. We ordered crab rangoon, egg drop soup, fried rice, three entrees (two from the vegan menu), and Thai tea.
Everything we ate in the restaurant was delicious, including the Thai Tea. Though the gluten-free noodles with vegan sauce did not travel well. By the time we made the 30-minute drive home, it had congealed and was not salvageable. I'm sure it would have been great in the restaurant and was not the fault of the kitchen, it seems to be the nature of the noodles. I would definitely recommend the restaurant, I just wouldn’t recommend the gluten-free noodles for takeout.

Absolutely love this place! Amazing food! Egg drop soup is the best here! Full of cabbage, eggs and carrots! They offer vegan and gluten free options! I always get gluten free and it tastes amazing! Great service and atmosphere! Owners are so friendly and you can tell they care about their customers! We live over 30 miles away and make the drive often to go there! One of my favorite places to eat or get take out!

Amazing service and incredible food!! We have come to Mai Mai, several times and we are always treated with great respect and the food is always fantastic! The owners and staff are friendly and helpful.

Had several dishes here and they were all really great! The egg drop soup was one of the best I’ve ever had as well! Spice level of the Thai Fried Rice was actually spicy. Would love to come back again!
