Oro Italian

Visited Oro for the first time and stupidly didn't book but the staff were so lovely and we got a table within 40 mins - it was a busy Saturday. The service was so warm and welcoming and the food was amazing. We were seated in a cosy booth which was so romantic. The food is expensive but definitely worth it the quality was amazing.

Fairly decent Italian that's been in Shawlands since the birth of Christ, maybe. Always busy with attentive, friendly & helpful staff all bound together in the ecletic designed surroundings which only a place that's been around for a while can get away with. Food was fine, not write home to your mother good just fine and not massive portions. I will return. Googled just asked me "has anything has changed since your last visit?"... Aye, it's got about 30% more expensive for the same portion size. Still tastes nice tho. OCT 2023... UPDATE... Still cracking and amazing staff.

we attended saturday 23rd and had a window seat which is great for people watching 😍 the food was amazing which matched the service, the steak was cooked to perfection, the sauce with the meatballs was sooo tasty and the prawn starter and mozzerella fritters were beautiful. The favourite dessert was the macaroons, ice cream was also lovely. We will definitely return and recommend to everyone

Busy and vibrant atmosphere. Food came quickly even though it was super busy when we were in. Food itself was so delicious, I was really impressed with my pasta, the sauce tasted really fresh and pasta cooked perfectly Al dente. Staff were lovely and attentive. Decor a little tacky but don’t let that put you off because this is a wee gem in Shawlands !

We were there for an early dinner, but we were treated like any other guests. We asked to move outside as it was a lovely night and this was no problem to the staff. The staff were all very nice. As for the food....it was amazing. I had the spicy sausage pasta and my hubby had a pizza. Both were very nice. Thoroughly recommend it.

I love this restaurant where I ate 4 nights in a row whilst at a conference nearby. The service is very attentive and professional, and there was no more than 15 minutes to wait for food. And the food was just brilliant and authentic Italian cuisine served by the Italian waiters. This was simply the best and therefore I highly recommend this place and commend all the staff for making it such a good evening
