Atlantic Cod

Food was lovely, the main two blokes are ace, make you feel welcome. Took time to engage with me and the kiddies. Never once faulted with there work, serving, talking and cooking. Can get busy as its become very popular, i think the guys was saying they been there just over a year and based on what ive seen and tasted they wont be going anywhere soon. Prices are very reasonable, i feed a family of 6 for a very good price. Keep up the good work Mark and Raj.

REVIEW UPDATE: My review is from when this was called Ossie's. Just seen it has changed its name. So cannot speak for the current quality a d service if it changed hands with the name change. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We love it here. We actually live on St Mary's Island and drive past the one there to go to Ossies because they are better for value, portion size and flavour. They very often cook everything fresh, so it can take a minute longer than some places, but we'd rather have freshly fried than sitting there for an hour. We love the flavour and lightness of the batter. And the chips are beautifully fried and never taste underdone like some other places. Portions are massive

Updated: Last visit was in early 2021. So the place has had a new refurb and a new owner (it seems) since I last visited. Price board is the old-fashion blackboard and chalk - so nice and accurate. Food is better; fish is a little bit wetter in the batter than I'd like but still pretty good. On the whole; vast improvement over my last visit.

Tried these guys for the first time just now. Went in and ordered in person, the guys who are running the place are sound, really nice fellas. Large cod was banging and the chips were good. Highlight was the cod, cooked perfectly, light batter, delicated fish which wasn't overdone like most of the f and c shops locally. Will definitely be back and will most certainly recommend this new establishment. Thank you 10/10

Great fish and chips that are freshly cooked when you order. The owner is really lovely and always pleasant and chatty. The portions are really generous and taste fabulous. The fish & chip shop has been there for years and that is proof how good the food is. If you want great, freshly cooked fish & chips that tastes fantastic with lovely golden crispy batter then go here. You won't be disappointed.
