Arguably one of the best things from a long weekend in Newcastle over the Great North Run weekend a few weeks ago, came back a second night post race after having a good time with a sneaky couple of drinks the first afternoon. Great selection of good interesting beers on tap, and fab owners who are welcoming and kind, and this is reflected in the customers and the way they interact with each other, both sides clearly care. Next time we're in town, we'll be back!

Visited yesterday with Boyfriend and Brother. Absolutely loved it, would highly recommend just for the cheerful and warm welcome. Barman was full of smiles and laughs. Had a good chat and banter. Had one of the most delicious Sours I have ever had. Barman recommended and he was 100% right. So professional and knowledgeable.
Its quite spacious and plenty of seats. Big windows perfect for people watching whilst you have your drink. Very interesting snack menu will have to try next time I go, some good imagination has gone into them. Big selection of drinks all well kept. Will try the natural wine next time as it sounds curious and intriguing. Toilets were very clean, well maintained. Would be happy to go in alone. Highly recommended and will return.

Nice beer; excellent quality (although expensive) charcuterie, olive etc; friendly staff - however dog friendly to a fault. These places don't usually have the best acoustics so when dogs start yapping or barking at each other, your ears will be ringing...
Update - Thanks for the reply. Hammonds is great for the meats, i've changed the 'good quality' to 'excellent' quality. Difficult situation with the dogs...

Absolute gem of a place. We arrived later in the evening and the bar was very busy. We were made to feel so welcome and a perching place was found for us - that's service. The selection of beers on tap and in the fridge is amazing. I also had a very nice glass of wine when we returned the next day. Unfortunately we were only visiting Newcastle for the weekend, if I lived there this place would be my regular. Cant wait to visit again!
